Video: Gov Rochas Okorocha Opens Up On Governors Forum Saga

The Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has expressed displeasure over the crisis that erupted after the Nigeria Governors Forum election that returned the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Ameachi as the Chairman of the Forum for the next two years.
Lambasting the PDP for their desperation to bring Amaechi down, Okorocha said:
“I can’t imagine it in my life that anybody will come up and say we did not conduct an election. There was a free and fair election and the winner of that election was Amaechi... If you [PDP] don't want Amaechi for some reasons please say so and stop telling lies.”

Warning that the lingering crisis could snowball into something that could consume Nigeria's democracy if not well managed, Governor Okorocha insisted that all Governors must come together and sue for peace and unity for the sake of the nations future.

The governor made the call while speaking at an event in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Baba Suwe drug saga: NDLEA appeals N25 million court judgment

The Court of Appeal in Lagos is to hear arguments today on the appeal by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency against the judgment ordering it to pay N25m as damages to Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina, aka Baba Suwe in 2011 for keeping him in custody beyond the legal time limit on the suspicion of drug ingestion.
The agency was also ordered to apologise to Baba Suwe publicly on “conspicuous pages of two national daily newspapers” but the NDLEA insisted in its appeal that keeping the actor in custody between October 12 and 21, 2011 on the suspicion that the drug was ingested did not violate his rights.
According to reports, the hearing has come more than one year after the NDLEA filed its notice of appeal against the judgment delivered by a Lagos High Court, Ikeja on November 24, 2011.

says ‘Beggars, Agberos my greatest headache’, denies shooting film on his NDLEA ordeal
Babatunde Omidina, alias Baba Suwe was in the news for the wrong reason last year  following his arrest and detention by officers of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) on the assumption that he was in possession of hard drugs believed to be cocaine. For more than one month he was subjected to public  humiliation and at the end of it all, the court vindicated him, and  ordered that he be paid the sum of N25 million for his unlawful detention.

However, since the court handed down the verdict, the actor  has never known peace in the hands of street beggars and Area boys popularly known as Agberos who would  never stop trailing him and asking for alms. He shares his ordeal with  Showtime Celebrity. He also dismissed  insinuation that he is currently shooting a film to document his NDLEA ordeal.  Excerpt:
