Thugs Cause Disruption At Redeemed Church Construction Site

Members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who started construction a new 3-kilometre auditorium for the church at Agufoye village were chased away by a large group of over 40 armed thugs.   The trouble has started, it was gathered, when fraudsters obtained a survey plan and
invited land grabbers to claim a portion of the land which the Redeemed Christian Church of God had earlier bought for N215 million.

Two Ogun State Government receipts dated July 22nd and 29th, 2009, serve as the evidence for purchase.  The land was also allocated to the church for 99 years by the Ogun State Bureau of Lands and Survey, Abeokuta, in July 2009.

Dangote to site $8bn refinery in Olokola FTZ

Indications emerged on Wednesday that the $8bn refinery proposed by Africa’s richest man and President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, would be located at the Olokola Free Trade Zone, Ondo State.
A senior official of the company, who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, told our correspondent that the refinery would be located in the OFTZ.
One of the factors considered for the location of the refinery, according to the source, is that it is the biggest deep seaport in the country and other big industries are located there; besides, Ondo is one of the oil producing states in the country.

man used Christian dating site ChristianMingle.com to find his rape victim

A California man was arrested this week after being accused of raping a woman he met through an online Christian dating website.
Sean Patrick Banks, an unemployed 37-year-old from Del Mar, allegedly used the website ChristianMingle.com to meet a woman in November police say he raped while visiting her home.
Detectives have spent the past several months looking for the perpetrator, who allegedly called himself “Rylan Butterwood” and “Rylan Harbough” on the site, false names that gave police fits in trying to find the true culprit.
Banks was charged with two counts of sexual assault and one of residential burglary. He has posted a $500,000 bail and pleaded not guilty. Banks could spend 36 years to life in prison if convicted.

Woman Sues Dating Site After Brutal Attack

A Las Vegas woman is suing dating website Match.com after she was nearly killed by a man she met through the site. The woman suing Match.com apparently went on a few dates with a man she met through the site, until he began harassing her via text message.
That’s when things got ugly – Mary Kay Beckman showed up at home one night in January 2011, where Wade Ridley was waiting for her. Ridley stabbed her dozens of times in the face, in a brutal attack. Beckman survived, but Ridley struck again, killing a different woman he met through Match.com in Arizona.
