Fulani cattle herdsmen sluthered 2 brothers in Imo state




The plight of residents of Umuekwunne Irete in Imo State got worse yesterday Thursday August 8th 2013 as fulani cattle herdsmen opened fire on the community, injuring several young men. Worse off is Chibuzor Hezekiah Okorie (pictured above) who was shot in the stomach and also cut in the chest and leg with a machete. His brother was also attacked.

Reports of Fulani herdsmen attacking members of their host communities with AK 47 rifles and other dangerous weapons have often been treated as a fairy tale by those saddled with the responsibility of protecting lives and property of the citizenry.

Recently, Crime Alert published a story of 23-year-old Ogbonna Eze, a commercial motorcyclist from Opi Community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu state, whose life was almost snuffed out by two Fulani herdsmen whom he had conveyed from Opi Junction along Enugu -Makurdi Expressway , to their camp at Idodo Agu Ekwegbe, Igbo Etiti local government area on a special drop.

Two People Killed As Fulani People Steal Their 50 Cows



Two people have been killed and 50 cattle rustled by some suspected Fulani militias in a mid-night attack on Rebet community in Foron District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The names of those killed are Yakubu Ishaya and Jawo Gyang.  Confirming the incident yesterday in Jos, the state capital, the Special Task Force (STF) spokesman, Captain Salisu Mustapher, said: “There was an attack on Rebet community of Bakin Kogi village in Foron District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. Two people were killed while some cattle were rustled in the process.”  Mustapher, however, said that two suspect were arrested in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State in connection with the incident.
According to him, security personnel have embarked on efforts to arrest the perpetrators.

Fulani herdsmen kill over 50 mourners in Agatu, Benue state



Over 50 mourners were killed yesterday Sunday May 12th in Benue State by Fulani herdsmen who attacked them as they buried their dead. The herdsmen stormed Okpachanyi village in Agatu local government area of the state and opened fire on the mourners, killing at least 50 of them. Others escaped with serious injuries.
The mourners had gathered to bury two of the policemen killed last week Tuesday by Ombatse cult members in Nassarawa state. Anarchy in our land!

10 Killed, 15 Injured By Fulani Herdsmen In Nasarawa



Fulani herdsmen have reportedly killed 10 persons and injured 15 others as they attacked two communities in Nasarawa State Saturday afternoon.
Tragedy struck in Nasarawa State on Saturday afternoon as Fulani herdsmen reportedly attacked communities in the state, killing 10 persons and leaving 15 injured.

The attackers armed with guns, knives and axes were said to have stormed the Iga and Rutu communities in Nasarawa Eggon and Doma local governments respectively between 2 and 4p.m., catching residents unawares as they left immediately after the attack.

Fulani, Gwari Clash In Abuja: Two Die, Thousands Displaced




With less than 48 hours to another year, a communal clash has erupted in Gwako, under Gwagwalada Local Government Area of the Federal Capital Territory. The spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency, Yushau Shuaib, who stated this on Sunday, said the clash drew the attention of the agency and the Ministry of the Capital Territory to jointly activate their Search and Rescue teams.

A Leader Wants Inter-Tribal Marriages Among NYSC Members





Abuja -The Ardo Fulani of Suleja, Alhaji Gidado Ibrahim, on Wednesday called for inter-tribal marriages among youth corps members to foster unity among Nigerians. Ibrahim made the call in an interview when he visited the NYSC 2012 batch C corps members posted to Abuja at the FCT Orientation Camp, Kubwa.
