Russia, China, non-aligned countries should call to abolish NATO - expert




On 30 May 1982 Spain joined NATO and became its sixteenth member. Since NATO's formation in 1949 the organization accepted new members six times and as of 2014 NATO unifies 28 states in Europe and North America. Rick Rozoff, the owner and manager of the Stop NATO website and international mailing list, shared his views about the possibility of further NATO enlargement and on how should the international community and Russia react to it during his interview with VR.

REVEALED: How Boko Haram Is Being Sponsored By some Foreign Countries – FG





The Nigerian Government, Tuesday, told the United Nations Human Rights Council, that the Boko Haram insurgents in some parts of the country were being sponsored by some foreign countries.
Nigeria, also said that it will not bow to international pressure to allow same sex-marriage in the country, arguing that same was against its cultural and traditional values.

It also justified the execution of death row inmates in the country, contending that same was in accordance with its laws.

US Defense to sell advanced weaponry to Gulf countries for $10.8 bn





The Pentagon plans to sell its bunker buster bombs and cruise missiles for $10.8 billion to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. The deal follows a series of US weapons trades in recent years that have bolstered the air power and missile arsenals of Gulf states, which view Iran as a menacing rival with nuclear ambitions.

Press Freedom: Nigeria Is Ahead Of Some African Countries – NUJ President (Video)



The president Nigerian Union of Journalist Mr. Garba Mohammed, speaking on the press freedom in Nigeria today said that what the government has accommodated in terms of analysis in most media houses cannot be accommodated in some countries in Africa, so Nigeria has gone far in achieving expression of speech.
While speaking on Channels Television’s Breakfast Show Sunrise Daily, he stated that Nigeria can’t be compared to Somalia because on a regular basis journalists are assaulted in Somalia, he said a committee will be set up to verify these claims.
 He added that being in a democratic system journalists have not been killed while performing their duties, except during insurgencies

The news broke early this week that Standard Liege’s Nigerian striker, Imoh Ezekiel was desirous of changing nationality to Belgium. The 19-year old former 36 Lions striker has scored 15 goals for Liege this season and his team is almost sure to be playing in Europe next season as their playoff form has been very good.
Goal.com sought out diverse opinions on why such a promising youngster would have decided to pledge his allegiance to Belgium and not Nigeria, his country of birth.
The first question that was asked was – are there more benefits to be gained playing for the ‘Red Devils’ as the Belgian national team is called than playing for the Super Eagles, who just became African champions once again last February?

Nigeria To Join Organisation Of French Speaking Countries





One of the decisions reached at the end of Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council Meeting (FEC), was the approval for Nigeria to join the International Organisation of French speaking countries; the International Organization of the Francophonie (IOF). This move agreed upon by the cabinet of Ministers is expected to further enhance the development of the nation’s education sector.
