NBC Stops radio stations from playing Wizkid's The Matter & Phyno's Man of the Year



  According to Beatfm OAP Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi, The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has instructed them not to play two songs - Wizkid ft Maleek Berry - The Matter and Phyno - 'Man of the Year. Were they singing ashewo things in the songs?

Governor Fashola Banned Molue, Commercial Buses From Lagos Island  Molue Buses Banned From Third Mainland Bridge, Eko & Carter Bridges Months after the ban on Okada, Lagos State Government under the leadership of GovernorBabatunde Raji Fashola has banned commercial buses widely called Molue from operating on Lagos Island.

Building collapse: Lagos bans construction on weekends, public holidays



Following cases collapsed buildings in recent times in Lagos State, the administration of Governor Babatunde Fashola said yesterday that it would no longer tolerate building construction on weekends and public holidays.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Olutoyin Ayinde, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the activities of his ministry in the last one year.
This, according to him, is to check unscrupulous developers and building contractors who secretly engage in construction of buildings at night, weekends and public holidays in a bid to dodge building and control agents.
The commissioner also said the government would impose appropriate sanctions on owners of about 407 abandoned buildings across the state.

Lagos Bans Tri-cycle (Keke Napep) Operators From Major Roads [DETAILS]



Lagos State government Friday banned the activities of Tri-cycle popularly called Keke Napep from the major roads in the state, saying, “it is meant to protect the lives and property of the residents of the state.”
The state government however vowed to impound any disused and abandoned vehicles across the state, explaining “4,632 vehicles were currently abandoned on over 9,100 roads in theState. Commissioner for transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa  disclosed this at the 2013 Ministerial Press Briefing held in Alausa to mark the sixth anniversary of Governor Babatunde Fashola’s administration.

Oshiomhole Bans Edo Farmers From Paying Dubious Royalty To Igbinedion





Governor Adams Oshiomhole has stopped farmers currently farming in government reserved forest at Okada, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State from paying N40m annual royalty to Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin kingdom.
It was gathered that the land was leased to Chief Igbinedion who later sublet to individual farmers for a certain amount of money.
Chief Igbinedion, father of the former Governor of the state, Lucky Igbinedion, is widely known for his flamboyance.
Locals say he actually regards himself as an authority in the ancient state.

France Bans Twitter Term ‘Hashtag’



The French government has included the Twitter term ‘hashtag’ in a list of words to be avoided in order to protect the national language.
The Académie Française is responsible for maintaining standards of French and has identified the English social networking term as a word that undermines linguistic purity, The Mirror reports.
