Naval Officer Shot By Police Still Hospitalized

A naval rating, Mr Kehinde Ojo, who was allegedly shot by a police officer attached to Osun State Police Command on December 20, 2012, is still on admission at Military Hospital, Satellite Town, Lagos State. Ojo, who was on holiday in Oshogbo, was in company with two friends when he was shot. They had had gone to wash their vehicle when they were accosted by the policeman, who demanded to know their identities.
A disagreement allegedly ensued thereafter, which led to the shooting of Ojo.

Investigation on Thursday showed that Ojo was yet to regain the use of his leg after being shot in the left ankle.
When contacted over the phone, Ojo, who acknowledged that he was still in the hospital, declined to comment, saying he was no longer authorised to speak on the issue.
Our correspondent also found out that the Murano Jeep that Ojo wenr to wash had yet to be released by the police.
Police Public Relations Officer, Osun State Command, Mrs Sade Odoro, on Thursday told our correspondent on the telephone that the case had been sent to the Director of Public Prosecution.
