Al Jazeera Attempts to Whitewash Al-Qaeda’s Syrian Branch

The Al Jazeera news network has displayed surprising editorial standards in the past, facing multiple accusations of whitewashing the Syrian conflict. The network has now gone to new extremes, interviewing and promoting the leader of the al-Nusra Front, al-Qaeda’s arm in the region, and a recognized terrorist organization.

The Head of the GRU accuses US and allies of creating the transnational “Islamist” terrorist network

Dear friends,

I am posting today the speech of Colonel-General Igor Sergun, Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia.  To say that his man, or the GRU is secretive would be an understatement.  Almost all the information publicly available about Sergun is in the short biography (researched by Scott) which I have placed at the end of this post.  As a general rule, the GRU never makes a public statement, nor does the person heading it.  It is thus interesting that on one of the very few occasions were General Sergun agreed to speak in public, he chose to focus on the risks of the so-called “Islamic” extremism and that in a relatively short presentation, he made four reference to the fact that these “Islamic” terrorists are basically a creature of the West.  One might be tempted to say “nothing new here, we all know that” – but that would be missing the point.  The point is that the head of Russian military intelligence is openly declaring that the so-called “Islamic terrorism” is not an original or indigenous phenomenon, but an instrument in the toolset of western imperialism which is used to subvert the countries which dare oppose the worldwide hegemony of the AngloZionist Empire.

Four years after creating poverty & misery by bombing Africa, NATO sings for Africa

NATO: 'We Are The World'

How appropriate to their outsized egos and ambitions that the foreign ministers of NATO countries joined arms and hands to sing an impromptu rendition of the 1980s aid to Africa fundraiser song "We Are The World" yesterday at a military alliance meeting in Turkey. nato_sings_for_africa
The song was originally recorded to raise funds to provide some relief to those suffering famine in Africa. But what a cruel and revealing irony that those impoverished in Africa these days come from places like Libya, which was bombed by the very same NATO in the name of "liberation" in 2011. NATO's "We Are The World" in that case becomes a rather menacing song, suggesting its expansionist ambitions and perhaps that there are no hiding places from NATO bombs. War is peace. Freedom slavery.

Ukraine SITREP May 12th, 2015 by Raskolnikova

1)The IMF confirmed the prediction of the fall of the Ukrainian economy in 2015
Ukraine’s economy went into a deep crisis, and there is clearly a confusion of the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk. Even the IMF sees that all the talk about reforms remain being just talks. In fact, the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk by their actions (introduction of new taxes, rising utility prices, the ruin of banks) destroys the economy of the country. A business cannot work in such conditions.

Special Report: Vietnam between the US, Russia and China

I don’t know who “Conical Hat” really is.  All I know is that he is a Vietnamese reader of the blog.  And judging by his article, he is somebody with superb knowledge and understanding of Vietnam’s history and international relations.  We emailed each other a couple of times and, one day, I suggested that he write up something about the geostrategic position of Vietnam.  What Conical Hat sent back to me was the most detailed and most interesting analysis of Vientam I have seen in a very long time.  I am immensely grateful to him.

Obama’s Duplicitous V-Day Remarks

by Stephen Lendman
Obama and Vladimir Putin are geopolitical polar opposites. Russia’s leader supports peace, stability and mutual cooperation among all countries.
He believes nation-state sovereignty is inviolable. He embraces UN Charter and other fundamental rule of law principles.
He opposes interfering in the internal affairs of other nations. He believes no country may attack another except in self-defense – and only if Security Council members authorize it as core international law stipulates.

Western Press Readers Detect Myths About WWII, Pay Tribute to Soviet Army

It is heartwarming that despite all the politics behind the attempts to disregard the glory and contribution of fallen Soviet soldiers who died fighting against Nazi Germany, there are people in the West who acknowledge the real history and salute Russian men and women for their heroism during World War II.

Many western leaders decided to boycott the Moscow Victory Day Parade on May 9 that commemorated the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany 70 years ago. Due to the crisis in Ukraine, political tensions between Russia and the West have deteriorated over the last year, reaching their lowest point since the end of the Cold War.

Did a Chinese-Russian-Iranian coalition opposing NATO debut in Moscow?

The Moscow Conference on International Security in April was used as a venue to give notice to the US and NATO that other world powers will not let them do as they please.

Obama Bribes Abe to Support the TPP by Unleashing Japanese Military

Great minds seem to be working alike. Our resident Japan expert, Clive, had pointed out that the US Trade Representative, Michael Froman, had nothing to offer Japan to change its indifference to the proposed TransPacific Partnership. Only the State Department could serve up the needed inducements, and they were missing in action.
But that changed as Obama became more eager about pushing his toxic, traitorous deal over the line. We pinged Clive Wednesday evening:

Protests in 'Baltimorstan': US Media Bias Ruthlessly Exposed

If US media reported the protests in Baltimore akin to similar events in Third World countries, the public would see the true nature of biased coverage in Maryland.
US media cover events that happen in the United States and in the rest of the world, especially those taking place in far-away, non-industrialized countries, in a very distinct manner.
