Iraqi Parliamentarian Claims to Have Proof US Help to ISIL

Iraqi lawmaker Qasim Al-Araji told the Iraqi parliament that his group, the Badr Organization, is in possession of documented proof that the United States government offers the self-proclaimed Islamic State with weapons and military aid.
According to Almasalah news, the top of the Badr Parliamentary bloc shared these details with parliament on Thursday, claiming that the group is in possession of evidence pointing to US military provisions to Islamic State and further stating which they will have the ability to share the documented evidence at a later time.

How MH17 was shot down – analysis by Colonel Cassad

Colonel Cassad has just published an interesting analysis about how MH17 was shot down (please see here for the original Russian text: http://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/2077046.html).  Uncle Martin has already made a full translation and posted it on the English version of Colonel Cassad’s blog (please see here for the English translation: http://cassad-eng.livejournal.com/133434.html).  Since this is very long text, I will not re-post it fully here, but I have decided to make it available for download in ODT, RTF and PDF format (please click here to download the zipped file with all three formats: http://www.mediafire.com/download/cj4vd09u7i1zr4b/How_MH17_was_shot_down.zip).

In conclusion I would like to indulge in a rather infantile exercise in self-congratulatory “autobackslapping” and point out that the hypothesis I put forth as early as August 4th is holding up to time pretty well.  See for yourself:

The cognitive dissonance of the European Union’s position

Translated from Russian by Robin
The problems with the European Union’s basic ideology of course involve Germany’s position more specifically. To see it with the utmost clarity, we must recall the standard mantra of the proponents of Western liberalism, whether they are from the European Union, from the United States or homegrown: the West’s main goal in relation to Russia is to explain that adopting basic liberal values inevitably leads to a flourishing economy and happiness all round. If we make any attempt to poke our noses into the real results, they explain that we ourselves are doing everything wrong; specifically, we have created corruption on a massive scale.

US Expands Russian-Aimed Propaganda Budget by More Than 100%

Despite its denial of any involvement in the Ukrainian crisis, and repeated criticism of Russian media, a senior official now admits that the US State Department has nearly doubled its funding for its Russian-language propaganda programs, since the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis.

Speaking before the US House Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday, US Assistant Secretary of European Affairs Victoria Nuland said that the State Department is vastly increasing its budget for battling what she calls “the Kremlin’s pervasive propaganda campaign poisoning minds across Russia, on Russia’s periphery, and across Europe.”

US Commander in Europe Panics, Goes on weird Anti-Putin Rant

Generals always prepare for the last war, but in the case of Lt. Gen. Hodges, the war may have never really happened. However, that's no reason to stop fighting.

It was all over. Endless columns of T-64 tanks were about to steamroll through the Fulda Gap all the way to the English Channel. Elite paratroopers, armed to the teeth, were marching into an unending row of Il-76 transport planes that took off every minute, from every airfield. Early warning radar stations were overwhelmed as a tsunami of ICBM launches consumed every point on their screens. Against all odds, we managed to wake our German allies and prepare them to make one last stand. As they marched forward to show… Wait. Oh no. Are those broomsticks?

Beyond the ninth circle of hell: what changes are waiting for the Ukrainian society after the war

Translated from Russian by Alexander

The civil war in Ukraine is like a huge meat grinder. The hands that turn the screw conveyor kill dozens of people every day and destroy thousands of people’s lives. However, any war will sooner or later come to an end, and the wounds on the tissue of society will gradually scar – though leaving an ugly trail of dead, wounded and displaced. Therefore it would be no harm to understand how Ukrainian society will change after the war.

Revanchism and russophobia: the dark undercurrents of the war in the Ukraine

The situation in the Ukraine is more or less calm right now, and this might be the time to step back from the flow of daily reports and look at the deeper, underlying currents.  The question I want to raise today is one I will readily admit not having an answer to.  What I want to ask is this: could it be that one of the key factors motivating the West’s apparently illogical and self-defeating desire to constantly confront Russia is simply revanchism for WWII?

Venezuela Gives US Two Week Deadline to Shrink Its Caracas Embassy

In the interests of parity between embassies, Venezuelan authorities are giving the US Embassy in Caracas two weeks to reduce the number of personnel in the country by over 80 percent, to 17 persons.
Venezuelan officials have announced that Washington has two weeks to pare down its 100-strong Caracas embassy to 17 persons.
"The U.S. government must keep 17 diplomats on our soil and we have given them 15 days to present us a list of those who will remain here," Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez noted, following a meeting with US embassy trade official Lee McClenney.

Was Nemtsov killed because his cover as a Kremlin asset was blown?

Yulia Brazhnikova - Cont
Translated by Kristina Rus

Political senselessness of Nemtsov's murder is obvious. It will not cause a wave of popular anger, nor attempts to change the state order. Criticisms by Boris Nemtsov looked so naive, that played into the hands of the authorities, putting down the opposition in the eyes of citizens. He was not only harmless, but in this sense, even useful. With such enemies, as they say, there is no need for friends.

In general, there is something wrong with the fifth column in Russia. In other countries they have many supporters, they fight for influence and keep the ruling party in tone. In Russia, despite all the buckets of mud, regularly poured by the liberals on the heads of the Kremlin leaders, their value is dropping rapidly day by day.

Question from 15yr olds in an African rural school students.

A group of 15yr olds in an African rural school students ask me these questions :
1. If Russia has invaded, invaded, invaded and is full of so much aggression and 'Imperial' take over  like the AngloAmerican corporate media tell us :
- how come the Russian speakers are still just defending an airport and railway junction?
- how come the Russian Army has not managed to take Kiev, Lvov, Paris and be on their way to Rome and Istanbul by now?

2. Who is supplying the Ukrainian army with their weapons? We see youtubes of white phosphorus, cluster munitions, grad missiles, tanks and heinous weapons being used on citizens in their towns ... women, children, the elderly killed daily. The E.Ukraine citizens who have become soldiers defending their towns are seen tortured, shot by AZOV fascist forces; bodies found missing body parts.

Reused false flag: Nemtsov murder scenario has already been used in Ukraine to start the Orange revolution

El Murid
Translated by Kristina Rus

The Murder of Nemtsov in the Name of The Head of Gongadze

The story with Nemtsov resembles and frankly is copied from another iconic story - the murder of Georgy Gongadze. This, of course, does not exclude purely domestic, business or even personal nature of this crime. However, media discourse has already been formed. The Opposition March (formally funeral) forgot about Nemtsov already yesterday - all the slogans and chants had little relation to Nemtsov.

Was Nemtsov's murder fruitless? The "Russian Maidan" turns into a "Rally of the Patriots"

Sergey Zheleznyak, Deputy Chairman of Russian State Duma
Translated by Kristina Rus

"Thank you to all who participated in the memorial event dedicated to the death of Boris Nemtsov, expressed their grief and and did not allow to use this tragedy to radicalize the protest, which was designed by the masterminds of this shooting.

Nemtsov murder: Putin warned about exactly this type of "false flag" two years ago

One thing needs to be kept in mind concerning the recent Nemtsov murder: he was a politician way past his prime. His political weight was low even within the Russian opposition, which as a whole is extremely weak right now; for most people, this assassination is the first time they'll hear about Nemtsov in a year or more. Many even argue that Nemtsov was a "decorative" asset for Putin as a stable, familiar, relatively honest but powerless opposition figure.

In short, this makes no sense, sort of like murdering Ross Perot in the USA. For Putin, Nemtsov as a martyr is a far, far bigger problem than he ever was alive. If not within Russia itself, where most people seem to be baffled (again, Ross Perot assassination), then on the international diplomatic and mass media stage, where people can be easily convinced Nemtsov was killed because he "was a threat to Putin". Three years ago, Putin warned about this exact scenario. Who benefits? May be internal Russian opposition, Ukrainian government, American government, heck even islamic extremists - but Putin doesn't benefit, that's for sure. Make your own conclusions.

M. Khazin, “Relevant notes on Greece”

Source: http://worldcrisis.ru/crisis/1819611

Translated by Mikhael

A brief overview of post-election situation in Greece. This is a translation of the Russian version, there is also a published Greek translation

There is a new government in Greece. A left-wing government that has a rather complicated relationship with the “sacred right of private ownership”, particularly when it comes to Greek sovereign debt. In other words, it is leaning towards triggering a full blown debt crisis in the EU (and possibly impacting the entire world). But, as we have been taught back in 2008, a crisis doesn’t just bring problems, it also unveils new opportunities. That’s why it is important to have a more in-depth understanding of Greek politics, in particular to be able to recognize who will benefit from these new opportunities. To be able to analyze the situation correctly, it is necessary to explain one very important point crucial to understanding the events that are unfolding in the EU today.

Breaking news: FALSE FLAG IN MOSCOW!

Nemtsov with Yushchenko
Boris Nemtsov has been shot dead in Moscow.  He was one of the most charismatic leaders of the "liberal" or "democratic" "non-system" opposition in Russia (please understand that in the Russian context "liberal" and "democratic" means pro-US or even CIA-run, while "non-system" means too small to even get a single deputy in the Duma).  He was shot just a few days before the announced demonstration of the very same "liberal" or "democratic" "non-system" opposition scheduled for March 1st.

As I have already explained many times on this blog, the "liberal" or "democratic" "non-system" opposition in Russia has a popular support somewhere in the range of 5% (max). In other words, it is politically *dead* (for a detailed explanation, please read "From Napoleon to Adolf Hitler to Conchita Wurst").  In the hopes of getting a higher number of people to the streets the "liberal" or "democratic" "non-system"opposition allied itself with the ultra-nationalists (usually useful idiots for the CIA) and the homosexual activists (also useful idiots for the CIA).  Apparently, this was not enough.

Ukraine Prepares for an Attack Against Russia ?

By: Eric Zuesse
The post-coup leaders of Ukraine have routinely said that Ukraine should destroy Russia; and, now, starting on February 24th, they are placing into position the key prerequisite for doing so, which is the advanced Anti-Ballistic-Missile, or ABM, system, S-300, which is described as follows by wikipedia
“The S-300 is regarded as one of the most potent anti-aircraft missile systems currently fielded.[3] Its radars have the ability to simultaneously track up to 100 targets while engaging up to 12/24/36 targets. The S-300 deployment time is five minutes.[3] The S-300 missiles are sealed rounds and require no maintenance over their lifetime. An evolved version of the S-300 system is the S-400 (NATO reporting name SA-21 Growler), which entered limited service in 2004.”
The S-300 (otherwise called “SAM C-300”) is designed to protect against retaliation. The entire purpose of ABMs is to disable retaliation. In that sense, ABMs are the most aggressive weapons of all. They are specifically designed to prevent retaliation from a nation that has been attacked and that is responding by sending in its own bombers to retaliate.

Ukraine February 26th SITREP: A Ukrainian Smørrebrød

Nothing major has happened over the past 24 hours, but a lot of small but interesting things have happened in the past couple of days.  What I propose to do first today is to list them with a URL to the original source:

A Ukrainian Smørrebrød:
