It was another day to cry for the family and friends of late Deji Falae as he was buried today. In the photos below, his wife Eseh Falae couldn’t stop crying. Deji a serving commissioner in Ondo State died in the ill-fated associated airline plane crash which occurred on the 3rd of October, 2013. May his soul rest in peace.

A former Mind of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, on Thursday told the head of the All Progressives Congress he couldn't be wooed to participate in the party as he had never been a politician.
He made that disclosure once the leadership of the APC visited him in Minna, Niger State. Abubakar while talking to newsmen after his ending up in the APC control said,

“I am not a politician, I am not a partisan politician and I don’t need to be wooed.
“The APC leaders came to brief me on the amalgamation of the new party, how they are doing, how far they have gone and how things are moving. I have given them my dose of advice.”

Justice Abubakar Umar of an FCT High Court on Thursday ordered a Polish woman, Mrs. Dora Gilmaska, be remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission   till November 26.The judge gave the order after he withdrew the bail he granted Gilmaska because she failed on two occasions to look in court on her behalf trial.
“I remember that on September 26 the EFCC requested the bench warrant because the accused could not be located.  I issued a bench warrant on her behalf arrest,” he said.

#SadNews: Fire razes Jos building, food market




An early morning inferno on Wednesday gutted the Katako Market in Jos, the Plateau State capital, destroying goods worth millions of naira.  Our correspondent gathered that the inferno started at about 1am on Wednesday and lasted for some a few hours. Most of the items destroyed by the fire were building materials, food items, household items and fairly used clothes. The Director of Fire Service, Plateau State Command, Mr. Michael Dung, who confirmed the incident, said the cause of the fire had yet to be established. He described it as a sad development. Dung said, “When we got the news of the outbreak of fire at the market, our men immediately mobilised to the scene  with six fire trucks and it took us about eight hours to put out the fire. He said investigations were ongoing to determine the immediate cause of the fire.
A similar fire razed the Jos Main Market in 2002, but 11 years after, the market has yet to be rebuilt.

R.I.P: Father of Governor Ibrahim Shema Is Dead!



The father of Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema, has passed away.Alhaji Shehu Shema, a player and notable neighborhood leader, died at the National Hospital in Abuja on Nov 11, 2013, Wednesday, after having a short illness. He died at the age of 86. President Goodluck Jonathan has delivered a condolence message to Governor Shema advocating him to thank Lord over his father's long and fulfilled life.
“The Leader feels that in driving on at the grand senior years of 86, Alhaji Shehu can go back to his Manufacturer in peace and satisfaction having made valuable offspring such as for instance Governor Shema who will proudly keep on his heritage of valuable and selfless service to their neighborhood, state and nation,” Jonathan said in a record signed by his special adviser on press and coverage, Dr. Reuben Abati.

ASUU leaders chase Kogi gov away from hospital.



Angry leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities allegedly chased away the Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada (retd.) from the emergency ward of the  Lokoja General Hospital on Tuesday.
Wada had gone to the hospital  to visit their  injured colleague, Dr. Ngozi Ilo,   and commiserate with them over the death of their  former President, Prof. Festus Iyayi,   in an accident involving his convoy  and an ASUU vehicle on Tuesday.

2 die, 9 severely injured as govt convoy causes accident in Lagos.



Two persons were killed on Wednesday, while no fewer than nine others were injured after a tipper rammed into pedestrians at the U-turn end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. The tipper was reported to be avoiding a government convoy of seven vehicles that allegedly drove recklessly to the expressway from a side road. The incident was said to have occurred between 11am and 12pm.

Pentagon Stops Russian Mi-17 helicopters Purchase for Afghan army



The United States Department of Defence has quit its plans to get 15 Russian-made Mi-17 helicopters for the Afghan army in 2014, Senator John Kornin said on Wednesday.The United States Congress repeatedly spoke against buying Mi-17 helicopters from Russia's arms trader Rosoboronexport for the reason that of considerations of promoting interests of domestic manufacturers of rotorcraft. The US State Department of Defence repeatedly categorically opposed the Congress on that matter, saying its decision was both in the national interests and in the interests of the Afghan army and security forces.
