GAY: Juno actress Ellen Page is lesbian
“I’m here today because I am gay. And because maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility. If we took just 5 minutes to recognize each other’s beauty, instead of attacking each other for our differences. That’s not hard. It’s really an easier and better way to live. And ultimately, it saves lives. Then again, it’s not easy at all. It can be the hardest thing, because loving other people starts with loving ourselves and accepting ourselves. I know many of you have struggled with this. I draw upon your strength and your support, and have, in ways you will never know.” Ellen said

My grouse against PDP — Atiku Abubakar
Former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku
Abubakar, recently defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, of
which he is one of the founders, to the opposition, All Progressives
Congress. In this online interview with LEKE BAIYEWU, he says the
resignation of Bamanga Tukur and appointment of Adamu Mu’Azu as the
National Chairman of the PDP will not end the problems with the ruling
party
Why did you leave the PDP, despite the resignation of the former National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, who you were aggrieved with?
Bamanga Tukur is my kinsman. I have no
grievances against him. The problem of the PDP was not caused by Tukur.
Lack of internal democracy is at the centre of the crisis bedeviling the
PDP. It is a cancer that is spreading rapidly and destroying the fabric
of the party. Despite all efforts and political chemotherapy, the party
has continued to show debilitating signs.

I’m glad he had accident after r*ping me –12-year-old rape victim
Punch reports;
In the emergency ward of the National
Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, 21-year-old Oye Adeleke was lying
on a bed like every other patient who had suffered different degrees of
fracture to their limbs from accidents. But Adeleke’s case is peculiar. In fact,
the story behind how he landed in the hospital had circulated around
the ward. Some of those who were discussing the issue when our
correspondent visited him, used the word “karma” to describe his fate.
On January 18, 2014, Adeleke, who is an
apprentice meat seller at Tinubu Market in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, allegedly
added his name to a long list of sexual predators walking the streets
of Lagos. That day, which would change the life of
12-year-old Bisola (not real name) forever, was when Adeleke ambushed
the young girl and raped her for one hour.
EFCC Still Investigating Ex-Aviation Minister Oduah’s Armoured Cars Purchase.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reiterated that in spite of the sack of the former Aviation Minister, Ms Stella Oduah, investigations on the purchase of the 255 million Naira armoured cars are still ongoing.
Recounting the achievements of the commission in 2013, the spokesman for the commission, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, told reporters in Abuja that the outcome of the investigations would be disclosed in due course.
However, Mr Uwujaren bemoaned the slow pace of prosecutions in the judicial system, which he said had largely stalled investigations. He, however, said that the anti-graft agency is not deterred.
He said that the commission had resolved to prosecute all its cases without fear or favour and would work vigorously to fight corruption in Nigeria within the ambit of the law.

Comment of The Day: Saint Valentine
"The masses are only followers. They celebrate what ever comes to them without thinking or research. If you ask people what is the reason why they celebrate valentines day? they don't know, they tell you is lovers day. But If you know much about that wicked king "saint valentine" Like people won't celebrate saint valentines day. But like I always say, People are deep brainwashed. They enjoyed to be fool and lied. Than to be awake and hear the truth. This is the world we living inn. The smart and wise ones are few. The doomed and brainwashed ones are always the majority. People are deep brainwashed and they can't even distinguish from wrong and right, true or false. That's why they makes satan work more easier to control and used the masses for his evilness. But soon many will surely discover the truth. Since the truth can't never be hidden forever under this great sun and moon light." ~Africa Freedom #realfreedom #Africa

Soviet-Afghan War lesson: political problems never settled by force
25 years ago, the almost 10-year long deployment of the limited contingent of Soviet forces in Afghanistan drew to a close. Experts have since been at variance about the assessment of the Afghan campaign, but they invariably agree that it was the biggest-scale (and actually quite ambiguous, obviously for that reason) foreign policy action throughout the post-war history of the Soviet Union.
The last Soviet soldier left Afghanistan on February
15th 1989 as part of the Soviet 40th Army, which was the backbone of the
limited contingent. The Soviet troops withdrew under the command of the
40th Army legendary commander, Lieutenant-General Boris Gromov. He
managed to brilliantly carry out the withdrawal, with the US now trying
to use his experience to more or less decently pull out of Afghanistan
following the more than 20 years of actually useless occupation of that
country. This is what an expert with the Centre for Modern Afghan
Studies, Nikita Mendkovich, says about it in a comment.

Declarations of possible use of force to resolve conflict are attempts to disrupt Syrian peace process - Lavrov
"Steps are being taken, some of them publicly, such as declarations that the use of force remains a possible option, steps are being taken to politicize all humanitarian issues at the UN Security Council; probably, they wish to force the government to slam the door shut [on negotiations]. These attempts are bad. One has to honor agreements. We have done our job honestly. And we expect our partners to do the same," Lavrov told a press conference after negotiations with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

National Dialogue: Preparing for a Marriage, not a Wedding - by Reno Omokri
Another article written by Reno Omokri, Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media.
Now that the modalities for the National Conference have been released, it is clear that this dialogue is going to be a citizens driven discourse which to every true progressive must be very reassuring, because as most married couples know, it spells disaster for a nuptial union if you spend time preparing for a wedding rather than a marriage. A wedding is a day’s event. A marriage is a lifetime affair. And what Nigeria had on the 1st of January 1914 was a wedding.
Recently, I became
aware of Brian Tracy's maxim of management which provides that "every minute you spend planning saves ten
minutes in execution; this gives you a 1000% Return on Energy".
