Ukraine releases all detained protesters
Ukraine’s leader has called for the opposition to yield some ground as authorities announced the release of hundreds of detained protesters days ahead of a mass, anti-government demonstration.
The move appeared to be a concession from the government of Viktor Yanukovich, but is unlikely to appease protesters, who for more than two months have been occupying Kiev’s central Independence Square and nearby buildings in a bid to oust the president

Ninety two prisoners have escaped from the prison in a western town in Libya because of weak security, the most recent sign of limited government control in the oil-rich North African country.
Spokesman of the Zliten local council, Hassan bin Sophia, said only four guards were watching 220 criminal and political detainees at the prison on Friday. He said the prisoners called for a doctor, and when the prison gate was opened, they attacked the guards and fled. Bin Sophia said 19 prisoners were soon recaptured, two of them wounded when guards opened fire.

GAY: Juno actress Ellen Page is lesbian
“I’m here today because I am gay. And because maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility. If we took just 5 minutes to recognize each other’s beauty, instead of attacking each other for our differences. That’s not hard. It’s really an easier and better way to live. And ultimately, it saves lives. Then again, it’s not easy at all. It can be the hardest thing, because loving other people starts with loving ourselves and accepting ourselves. I know many of you have struggled with this. I draw upon your strength and your support, and have, in ways you will never know.” Ellen said

My grouse against PDP — Atiku Abubakar
Former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku
Abubakar, recently defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, of
which he is one of the founders, to the opposition, All Progressives
Congress. In this online interview with LEKE BAIYEWU, he says the
resignation of Bamanga Tukur and appointment of Adamu Mu’Azu as the
National Chairman of the PDP will not end the problems with the ruling
party
Why did you leave the PDP, despite the resignation of the former National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, who you were aggrieved with?
Bamanga Tukur is my kinsman. I have no
grievances against him. The problem of the PDP was not caused by Tukur.
Lack of internal democracy is at the centre of the crisis bedeviling the
PDP. It is a cancer that is spreading rapidly and destroying the fabric
of the party. Despite all efforts and political chemotherapy, the party
has continued to show debilitating signs.
