Gunmen in disguise abduct pastor, six children in Lagos
A 27-man gang on Friday abducted a pastor, Mr. Godson Akubiro, and six of his children from their Adeosun Street residence, Koya Estate, Igbo Olomu, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Akubiro is said to be the founder of Mountain of Breakthrough Church in the area. The incident was said to have occurred about 1.30am.
Neighbours, who requested anonymity, toldPUNCH Metro that the gunmen arrived at Akubiro residence in three jeeps and a Toyota Tundra vehicle. The number plates of the vehicles were said to have been covered. The gunmen, who wore army camouflage, had allegedly gained entrance into the house with the aid of an iron cutter.

Jonathan warns as the budget comes under an increasingly intense media scrutiny, President Jonathan has given up nearly half of the presidency’s giant feeding bill of N1 billion, a proposal, two years ago, that shocked Nigerians and stirred public anger.
The feeding cost has been lowered by N494 million or 45.5 percent in the 2014 budget proposal sent to the National Assembly by the president. The 2014 request, if approved by lawmakers, will be the lowest amount of naira spent by the State House on feeding and allied costs in two years.
In the 2012 budget presented in late 2011 by the president, his office and residence as well as those of Vice President Namadi Sambo were allocated an obscene N993 million for refreshments, catering services and purchase of kitchen equipment.

Wellness of pregnant woman assaulted by Lebanese Manager worsen
According to a report by Premium Times, the healthiness of the factory employee assaulted by her Lebanese boss causing her to lose her 7 months pregnancy, has significantly ruined & requires urgent body transfusion.
"I just finished talking with the surgeon that did the emergency surgery and he said her condition has worsen sharply since yesterday. Her stitches were removed today but the doctor said she is very weak and under serious emotional trauma. He said she needs immediate blood transfusion or else her situation would get worse,” Alexandra Ossai's lawyer told Premium TimesContinue after the break.

Bachelor party turns deadly in Maiduguri as Boko Haram Launches assault on party-goers.
Around 11pm Saturday evening December 28th, three guys thought to be members of Islamic militant Boko Haram invaded a bachelor celebration at Tashan Alade community in Maiduguri and Launched fire on the party-goers, eliminating seven of these people and hurting many others. An eyewitness who survived the attack claimed the guys came in two motorcycles , joined the celebration like they were visitors and before anyone knew what was happening , they presented their weapons and started firing indiscriminately. They fled the scene after ensuring many people were dead.

F1 icon Michael Schumacher in coma after a terrible skiing crash

Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, 44, is fighting for his life after
he fell and hit his head on a stone while skiing off piste together
with his 14-year-old son Mick in the resort of Meribel in the French Alps yesterday morning Sunday December 29th.
Doctors who treated the seven-time Formula 1 world champion said he'd ‘have died' had he not been wearing a collision helmet. But regardless of the helmet, Michael Schumacher suffered serious head injuries that's left him in a coma because of the accident. The German driver required immediate brain surgery as he arrived at the medical facility and is being kept in an induced coma, officials said.

Nigerian man killed in India, Simeon Obodo, buried in his hometown in Obogwe-Umunwaku
The 35-year old Nigerian who was killed in Gao, India, on October 30, Simeon Obodo, has been buried in his hometown in Obogwe-Umunwaku community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo.
A representative of the family, Ejike Esinkoye, disclosed this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Monday.
Mr. Esinkoye, who said the funeral service of Mr. Obodo took place on Monday at St Paul’s Catholic parish Obogwe-Umunwaku, expressed dismay that the Federal Government did not send any official delegation to the burial.
