A former military Head of State,
Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has said he has no appointed
candidate for any political position in the country. Buhari, also a chieftain of the All
Progressive Congress, said this on Saturday in Kano at a sensitisation
workshop, organised by the Kano APC Forum for Peace and Equity. The former head of state said he had no candidate and urged anybody who wanted to aspire to any post to feel free to do so.
“Buhari has not anointed anybody as a candidate, so whoever people want is his candidate.
“Whoever emerges for the party as the people’s candidate at the local, state or presidential level is Buhari’s candidate. So Buhari’s candidate is the people’s candidate,” he said.

ASUU leaders adamant on strike.
Following threats from the Federal Government, leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yesterday relocated from Abuja to their various campuses in readiness for expected crackdown.
It was gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan might no longer be directly involved in negotiation with the lecturers because he is angry with ASUU leaders for three reasons, namely their contempt for the office of the President, their decision to issue new conditions and their alleged backing by some external forces.

Kyiv police release all 35 detained for resistance at Maidan Nezalezhnosti
"The law enforcement arrived at Independence
Square after they received a report from the Kyiv State City
Administration's public utilities department. 'Berkut' [special police
task force] started acting after the demonstrators resisted police and
pelt them with trash, glasses, bottles with water, and burning sticks.
As a result, 35 people were detained. Administrative reports have been
drawn up on them, and they have been released," it said.

Mozambique airlines plane crashes in Namibia, all 34 passengers Died

Police Force Deputy Commissioner Willy Bampton told Reuters the burned
out wreckage of the aircraft, which went missing on Friday, was found in
the Bwabwata National Park, near the borders with Angolaand Botswana.
