Justice Akanbi’s Wife Dies At 68



Alhaja Musatu Aduke Akanbi, the spouse of the retired President of Court of Appeal, pioneer Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, Justice Mustapha Akanbi, passed away at the age of 68. She died at an Indian hospital in the early hours of Friday, November 15, following an undisclosed ailment.

Russian plane with 40 tonnes of medical cargo aboard arrives in Syria



An aircraft carrying humanitarian aid from the Russian Health Ministry has arrived at port Latakia, Syria, Vesti.ru website reports."Medical cargo exceeding 40 tonnes contains everything necessary for rendering primary medical and sanitation assistance," the report says.Earlier following talks with Syrian leader Bashar as-Assad President Vladimir Putin instructed the Health Ministry to render medical assistance to Damascus given the complex state of health protection in that country.

Governor Okorocha, Yuguda, Wamakko & Orji Uzor Kalu Splash Cash On Igbo Muslim



Governor Aliyu Wamakko and his Bauchi State counterpart, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, both gave N5million each to Igbo natives who converted to Islam yesterday. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and former Governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu gave N2 million and N1million to the converts.
The event took place at the National Mosque in Abuja.

The Olugbo of Ugboland and Chairman of the Yoruba Obas Conflict Resolution Committee, Oba Frederick Akinruntan, has urged the Federal Government to utilize the window offered by the National Conference to create a constitutional role for traditional rulers in the country.  Talking with journalists in Ugbo, Akinrutan said traditional rulers were always used and dumped by politicians.

Students Burn-down Asa Block At IMT In Enugu To Avoid Malpractice Punishment



Based on report, at the Institute of Management & Technology, IMT, Enugu, the Asa block of the institute was set ablaze last two nights at about 7pm.  Allegedly by some final year students of the college who had been booked for exam malpractice. The ultimate students who feared they would be finding significant abuse for his or her behave and could not consider any possible solution, chose to burn down the making where  answer scripts were stuffed, in order to get rid of the evidence against them.

Steven Keshi set to make history



Stephen Keshi  was in  the twilight of his career when he captained Nigeria  to seal their first ever World Cup. Nigeria just required a bring against Algeria in the last  group A second point USA'94 World cup  qualifying playoff in Algiers on Oct 8, 1993   to attain the finals.
