No World Cup For Ike Uche, I don't think I need a player like that in the team. - Steven Keshi




Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has closed the door on striker Ikechukwu Uche for the World Cup, saying he lacks tactical discipline.

Uche has been one of Nigeria’s reliable goal scorers and has scored 12 goals this season for Villarreal.

On Monday night, the striker returned to action after he was sidelined by injury for two weeks.

NFF begs Steven Keshi to accept assistant coach



AS the war rages over the employment of a foreign or local assistant for Stephen Keshi for the World Cup in Brazil,  the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, yesterday pleaded passionately with Keshi to see reason on the need for an assistant that would add value to his technical bench.

A member of the Technical Committee said yesterday that they have  resorted to begging Keshi because of his huge popularity with Nigerians.

Brazil 2014 Not Sure For Keshi Yet - NFF



The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), says it has not taken a categorical stand on Stephen Keshi heading Nigeria’s coaching crew to the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

Nigeria’s sports minister, Bolaji Abdullahi last week announced that a “foreign technical assistant” will be drafted in to the Super Eagles backroom staff if Keshi makes such a request.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Congratulates Super Eagles.



Again, the Super Eagles have demonstrated why they are the Champions of Africa. The match today in Calabar was a master piece bit of great footballing. This is actually the type of team work and synergy that the entire world has come to anticipate from not just our football teams, but from the general Nigerian society. With the kind of play we witnessed today, the World Cup is within reach.

Steven Keshi set to make history



Stephen Keshi  was in  the twilight of his career when he captained Nigeria  to seal their first ever World Cup. Nigeria just required a bring against Algeria in the last  group A second point USA'94 World cup  qualifying playoff in Algiers on Oct 8, 1993   to attain the finals.
