Who Will Tell Stories "Folktales" To Our Own Kids?



In the past, folktales were used to educate, entertain and generally engage children. Nkiru Okpala examines this cultural art in the light of today’s realities.

A folktale is a traditional story made familiar through telling over the years. Usually, there is a moral lesson to pick from a folktale and the teller would often ask children to explain to him or her the morals in the story.

Murder for money…Victims of ritual murders tell their stories



Virtually every day, many police stations nationwide especially in the South West of the country are inundated with reports of missing persons.
Available records show that less than 10 percent of such persons ever returned home. A scary 90 percent of them was not found and the bodies of a negligible number that were eventually seen, dumped either on the roadsides, bush paths or inside gutters, mutilated and their vital organs removed.

Man falls 5 stories after driving his car into an empty elevator shaft



A parking attendant has narrowly escaped serious injury while driving an SUV in an empty elevator shaft and fell five stories in a garage in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, authorities said.  The driver backed the black Lexus 350 in the shaft and the vehicle overturned after falling on top of a lift at street level in the Valet Parking Garage in the city at E. 76th St. between First and Second Avenues.
