Tsav Calls For Massive Recruitment Into Police Force, Return Of Soldiers To Barracks.



The former Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, has urged the federal government to recruit more personnel into the Nigeria Police so that soldiers can return to the barracks.

With the rising wave of terrorism and other violent crimes, soldiers have been deployed across the country to assist the police in internal security operations. Tsav, who spoke yesterday in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, said “the police force is heavily understaffed and as a result, the soldiers have taken over their jobs and are allegedly killing innocent citizens even without provocation”.

FBI mulling recruitment of 'hackers on cannabis' to battle cybercrime



Despite the fact that FBI current policy prohibits anyone working for it who has used cannabis in the past three years, the organization's director James Comey has acknowledged that this is complicating its efforts to recruit hacking experts, according to The Wall Street Journal.

"I have to hire a great workforce to compete with those cybercriminals, and some of those kids want to smoke weed on the way to the interview," he said at the White Collar Crime Institute's annual meeting.

David Mark Implicated In SSS Recruitment Scandal



Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State Service or State Security Services (SSS) has been hit by arecruitment scandal involving the violation of the principle of federal character.  Senate President David Mark is also implicated in the sordid affair.
Impeccable sources close to the SSS told News Express that during the last recruitment exercise embarked upon by the Service “David Mark alone sent in over 40 names of his kinsmen in clear and flagrant violation of the Federal Character principle.”

Police disqualify SSCE, Third Class holders from recruitment





Police Service Commission says holders of Secondary School Certificate would no longer be accepted into the Nigeria Police Force as constables. It said the minimum entry requirement now was Ordinary National Diploma. The commission also stated that Third Class degree holders were no longer accepted as Cadet Inspectors, in line with the reform in the force. PSC Commissioner and Chairman, Public Affairs Committee of the commission, Ms. Comfort Obi, who stated this at a news conference in Abuja on Monday, explained that the commission had reviewed the recruitment process into the police.
