Senate Queries N4 Billion Earmarked For First Lady Patience Jonathan’s House



The upper house of the National Assembly of Nigeria has expressed concerns over the N4bn budgeted for the construction of a mission house for the First Lady, Patience Jonathan listed in the 2013 Budget of the Federal Capital Territory. Senators described it not only as scandalous but an endorsement of illegality.
It also queried the expenditure of N7.5billion for the management of  the city as well as the spending of N150million for the renovation of the Guest House of the Vice President in Asokoro, Abuja.
It considered for second reading on Thursday the budget of the FCTA totaling N253.199billion, of which N48.034billion is for personnel cost; N49.504billion is for overhead, while the balance of N155.66billion is for capital projects for the service of the FCT

Patience Jonathan To Lights National Christmas Tree In Abuja





First Lady Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan will tomorrow light the first ever Nigerian National Christmas Tree in Abuja, the nation’s capital.  The national Christmas tree was initiated by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) with the aim of showcasing Nigerian culture to the world. A statement issued by the special adviser on media and publicity to the minister of state for FCT, Oluyinka Akintunde, disclosed that the Christmas tree, which is 20.9 metres high, is located at the Unity Fountain Park beside Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja and designed in the national colours of green and white.

Nigerian First Lady Patience Jonathan Still Sick



Despite her return to Nigeria in pomp and circumstance about one month ago, First Lady Patience Jonathan is still sick, SaharaReporters sources say. Saharareporters learned that shortly after the public relations exercise that attended her return, she retired into a medically-induced bed rest that has her kept her away from the public, unable to attend to official duties.

President Jonathan’s wife, Patience, returns to Nigeria



Patience, wife of President Goodluck Jonathan returned to Nigeria on Wednesday.

She had been away from the country two months ago for medical treatment in Weisbaden, Germany for an undisclosed ailment.

Her Chief Press Secretary, Ayo Osinlu, had said at the time that she was on holiday.

But press reports indicated that she was flown from Abuja to Germany in an air ambulance for treatment.

She returned to Abuja in a presidential jet.
