PDP BoT: Jonathan, Obasanjo to clash over Anenih




There are indications that President Goodluck Jonathan and former President Olusegun Obasanjo  are set to  clash again over the chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees. Though the presidency had denied it,  there have been reported instances of alleged disagreements between Jonathan and Obasanjo in recent times.

Obasanjo, Others Settle Rift Among Egba Monarchs




The age-long rivalry and rancour among the four foremost traditional rulers in Egbaland was on Saturday resolved as the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun; former president Olusegun Obasanjo; head of the defunct Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan and foremost industrialist, Chief Olatunde Abudu, intervened and successfully brokered peace among the warring monarchs.

Jonathan is my president but I won’t keep quiet — Obasanjo





Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday in Abeokuta said he had no problem with President Goodluck Jonathan as being speculated in some quarters. Obasanjo however said he would not allow himself to be prevented by anyone from discussing pressing national issues and party affairs. The former president said this when the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, paid him a visit at his Hilltop Country Home in Abeokuta. Obasanjo told Tukur that his passion, patriotism and love for the country would not allow him to remain silent on burning national issues.

Jonathan may not rule beyond 2015 – Dokubo-Asari …says quarrel with Obasanjo unnecessary





Leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteers Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has declared that President Goodluck Jonathan may not rule beyond 2015.  Dokubo-Asari based his statement on the facts that the President had lost the support of his political stronghold-South/East and South/South, going by the result of the 2011 presidential election. The Ijaw activist had in March this year declared that Jonathan would occupy the Presidential Villa for eight years from 2011.

Following the ongoing war of words between the camp of President Goodluck Jonathan and former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, the president has cautioned his aides against attacking the former head of states through the media. Jonathan warned that anyone found guilty stands the chance of losing his job.

Obasanjo: "The Danger Ahead Is Real and Potent, Revolution Coming"





Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed fears that Nigeria will witness a revolution soon unless government takes urgent steps to check growing youth unemployment and poverty.
Speaking at the West African regional conference on youth employment in Dakar, Senegal at the weekend, Obasanjo said the danger posed by an army of unemployed youth in Nigeria can only be imagined.
"I'm afraid, and you know I am a General. When a General says he is afraid, that means the danger ahead is real and potent," he said.
