“We are deeply concerned over the ongoing conflict between supporters of incumbent President of the Republic of South Sudan Salva Kiir and supporters of former Vice President Riek Machar. We are calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities and for political dialogue to be established without delay,” the ministry said in a statement.
As
a permanent member state of the UN Security Council, Russia has been
working to promote the search for peaceful ways of ending the
military-political crisis in South Sudan,” the statement says.
