19-Year Old Who molested Blind Grandmother Has A Case To Answer- Magistrate





A Yaba chief magistrate’s court in Lagos, yesterday, held that a teenager, Avoseh Satingo, has a case to answer in the alleged rape of an 80-year-old blind woman.

It, therefore, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody. The Magistrate made this known following advice by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
She said the DPP advised that a prima facie case had been established against 19-year-old Satingo.

It was a shock they never prepared for. Gathering at the home of their late leader, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, who until her death on June 14 at the age of 97, was the President-General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men, majority of them had only come to mourn their leader, for whom the family was holding the eighth-day fidau, a religious ritual for departed Muslims.

Like so many dignitaries and others from different spectrums of the society, who had converged on the late Mogaji’s Alausa, Ikeja home to take part in the eighth-day remembrance prayers for the deceased, the least the traders had expected was that on that Sunday, they would get a new leader.

NDLEA Nabs Grandmother With Cocaine In Hair Weaving At Abuja Airport



The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Saturday nabbed a 53-year-old grandmother, Sikirat Giwa at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja while trying to smuggle out cocaine under her hair weave.
The 1kg of white powdery substance which later tested positive to cocaine was discovered during a routine check as the suspect attempted to board an Ethiopian airline Flight ET 910 to Pakistan enroute Addis Ababa and Dubai.
According to the NDLEA Abuja Airport commander, Mr. Hamisu Lawan, “There was no prior information on Sikirat as the drug was detected when a female officer carried out a body frisk on her during outward screening of passengers.”

1 Yr Old Survives 7 Days Alone With Her Dead Grandmother



A 20-month girl was found lying in her dead grandmother’s arms in a home in Hunan Province on September 27 and survived for probably seven days after her grandmother passed away, according to Chinese media.
Wang Lichun, 45, was left at home taking care of her granddaughter by herself in Shuangfeng County, after her husband, two sons and daughter-in-law moved to Changsha, a city over 1,000 km away, to work.
Xiao Kaiquan, the girl’s father, said that from September 20, his mother stopped answering the phone.

Daughter Beats 92-year-old Grandma To Death, Says Her Grandmother Was A Demon





A WOMAN who allegedly stomped her 92-year-old grandmother because she feared the old woman was possessed by a demon may face stiff penalties now that the victim has died. Angela Armstrong died recently at a hospital in St. Louis Country, Mo, following the November 21 attack by her granddaughter, Rachel Armstrong. The younger woman threw her grandmother down the stairs before stomping her, which left Angela with broken arms and eight cracked ribs.

32-Year-Old Man Kills Grandmother, Her Friend For Nagging Him In Ibadan




Olalonpe Ganiyu, until her death a couple of weeks ago, loved her relations to a fault. Blessed with several children, Olanlope, said to be close to a hundred years before her untimely death, showed great love and affection for her kin.

When one of her daughters died in early 2012, the elderly woman immediately took all the late daughter’s children into her custody. Olanlope lived at Yemetu in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Among the children Olanlope took into custody and caring for is 32-Year-Old Tajudeen Adekunle. But ever since Adekunle and his siblings had been living with their grandmother, the elderly woman and her grandson were said to have been dealing with each other like cat and dog. The no love lost relationship between grandmother and grandson came to a head recently when Adekunle allegedly hacked the old woman to death.
