Nigerian Banker Withdraws Cash From 12 Customers’ Accounts



A customer care officer with a new generation bank’s branch at Alaba, Ojo, Lagos, Binutiri Aribidesi Sodiq, 26, has been arrested by the police at Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, western Nigeria, for allegedly withdrawing cash from the accounts of twelve customers of the bank without authorization.  After investigation by Warrant Inspector Dorcas Dangbi and her team, the suspect was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on a 13-count charge of felony to wit, stealing.

Armed Robbers drove us to bank at night, forced us to withdraw cash with ATM cards –Robbery victim



Julius Adegun had on Saturday, September 21, 2013, boarded a commercial bus from Abule-Egba, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expresssway, around 10.30pm. He was heading to Iyana-Ipaja but had no idea he had boarded the bus with a three-man gang of robbers. The events that unfolded later were to confound him because it was one he had never heard of.

“I had heard of robbers waylaying people after they had used the ATM before. I had even heard of people being ambushed immediately they were about to use the ATM and forced to withdraw certain amount of money by robbers. But I never imagined I would be a victim of this kind of robbery,” he said.

Nigeria not broke, but has cash flow Issues— FG




ABUJA — THE Federal Government said yesterday that Nigeria was not broke but admitted that the country was having cash flow problems.
Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla and the Director-General of Budget Office, Mr. Bright Okogwu, stated this while answering questions from members of the Senate and House of Representatives Joint Committee on Appropriation and Finance.

Task force seizes cash-laden bullion van, arrests driver



The Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and other special offences Enforcement Unit on Tuesday arrested a driver and seized a bullion van for violating the state’s traffic law.
Chairman of the task force, Bayo Sulaiman, said the driver was nabbed while driving against traffic around 12noon on ACME Road in the Ikeja area of the state.
He added that a policeman escorting the van was also apprehended, while the cash-laden vehicle, with registration number PF 4582 SPY, was impounded.

Perfect Gentleman: Bus Driver Returns N380,000 Cheque And N49 000 Cash To Owner




A mini-bus driver, Bisi Oladimeji, 33, on Saturday returned N49,000 cash and a cheque for N380,000 to the owner in Osogbo, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The owner, Olubunmi Adeleke, a teacher at Our Lady and St. Francis College, Osogbo, forgot a purse containing the items in the bus she boarded from Fakunle area of Osogbo to Aregbe.

The owner of the cheque lives at Agunbelewo area of Osogbo while the cheque was written in her favour from her co-operative society.

Speaking in Osogbo, Mrs. Adeleke said, “I was really devastated when I realised that I have misplaced the purse.

Private jets used to smuggle cash, fugitives – FG



The Federal Government on Sunday said illegal consignments and cash in local and foreign currencies were being smuggled on daily basis in and out of the country aboard private jets.
 
It also said some persons that securities agencies had declared wanted were being airlifted out of the country aboard private and chartered jets.
 
As a result, it insisted that pilots flying such jets must declare the passenger manifest before being allowed to take off.

ATM machine suddenly starts spitting out free cash



If you are the type that likes free cash then you should have went over to that ATM machine that suddenly started giving everyone cash for free.  Police were eventually called to restore calm in eastern England after the ATM was constantly distributing twice as much money than customers were asking for.

A Lloyds TSB ATM machine in Ipswich began distributing "free money" to customers after the bank branch was closed for the night.   When news of the free cash spread, a crowd began gathering, causing arguments between those who sought to use the faulty machine.

Woman Poisons Her Husband After Winning $1M Lotto, Tries To Cash Money (PHOTO )



The wife of a man who died of cyanide poisoning attempted to claim his $1 million lottery winnings in the days following his mysterious death. Imo Govt. Offers Cash Reward For Nkiru Sylvanus' Whereabouts





Three days after the kidnap of the Special Assistant on public matters to Rochas Okorocha, governor of Imo State, Nkiru Sylvanus, the government of the state has finally responded to the kidnap of the governor's aide.
In a statement released through the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Chinedu Offor, the state government announced a substantial reward to anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of the abducted actress.
