MTN Donates Schools' Furniture to two Lagos Schools

MTN Foundation has donated 200 pieces of students’ furniture, 20 pieces of teachers’ furniture, exercise books, mathematical sets as well as raincoats valued at a cost not less than N10million to the Oriwu Model Junior/Senior College and Oreyo Junior/Senior Grammar School both in Ikorodu.

Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, who received the donation on behalf of the State Government appreciated the laudable gesture of the MTN Foundation noting that it was just one of the many that MTN Foundation has done for the State.

She implored the students and teachers to make judicious use of the furniture and ensure that they are not damaged just as she also appreciated the facilitator of the gesture from MTN, Mr. Babajimi Benson, an indigene of Ikorodu, and prayed that God gives him the enablement to bring more corporate assistance to the state.

Oladunjoye noted that government cannot do it alone hence it needs the assistance of corporate organizations as well as individuals who are endowed with the means.

Responding, the Education Portfolio Manager of MTN Foundation, Mr. Victor Orie-Ononogbu, pledged the willingness of MTN Foundation to do more, adding that the gesture is just one of many projects being executed in support of Lagos State Government.
