When #BringBackOurGirls Backfires: Americans Educate each other over Mrs.Obama’s Twitter photo

Mrs.Obama’s Twitter photo was revised and corrected by a revolutionary socialist group in Detroit.
“Michelle Obama spared a moment between lavish tax-victim-funded vacations and celebrity outings to join this year’s version of the Kony campaign, which seeks military action in Nigeria to liberate 276 Christian schoolgirls who were abducted by Muslim militants.

Mrs. Obama’s Twitter photo was revised and corrected by a revolutionary socialist group in Detroit to reflect the hideous reality behind the administration’s humanitarian posturing,” says William Norman Grigg.

And What is the hideous reality ?

Genevieve Nnaji says yes to bringing in American soldiers: Beginning of a new Pakistan or Yugoslavia's Fate?

Click here to see what America and NATO did to Yugoslavia 15 years ago.
Genevieve Nnaji was on CNN today talking about the missing Chibok girls, and she was very articulate. Some of what she said below and what Omo Oodua reader's reply...

"As celebrities, we thought it was our responsibility to shed light and bring to the forefront this inhumane act."
"For me I think it will be unfair to say they (the federal govt) were slow to react because nobody knew whether they reacted or not. The thing is we we weren't told, we didn't know if they were aware of the situation or not. The major problem we had was the lack of communication. We just wanted them to react to us. Now we can see things being put in place, now we can see effort being made and that will be credited to the noise that's been made, the campaigning that's been made around the world. We are grateful for all the attention."
CNN: Does she welcome foreign support?
"This has been going on way too long and there's no shame asking for help and in taking it. The truth is, terrorism is not only our problem, it's not a continent problem, it's a global issue and we all have to come together to help it because at the end of the day this is a breach of human rights and it sgouls concern each and everyone of us.

Comment from A political scientist and also Omo Oodua  reader:
Balogun Adesina.
What is going on in Nigeria today can be traced back to when we got independence from Britain or the West. Now the question is, did we fight for the independence or we negotiated it ?

Ogun State: The Bleeding Rocks

When Adesola (not real name) gained admission to study Accounting at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ogun state in 2010 her joy knew no bounds. The last two years have been challenging for the family. Right after she finished her secondary school education in 2008 she lost her father to the cold hands of death and the responsibility to cater for her needs and that of her only brother was automatically placed on her mother. Even though things were not so bad for the family as the income for sustenance was being generated from the medium sized stationery store built by the father few months before his death, the fear of placing the whole responsibility on her mum and the unending accusation and counter accusation from family members especially from her paternal linage on the possibility of her mother being responsible for the death of her father was unbearable and traumatic. So even though she was offered admission in 2009, she deferred.
