Russia will turn to other markets to minimize impact of any EU economic sanctions - PM Medvedev



If Europe approves economic sanctions, Russia can minimize the damage by turning to other markets, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said. "The European Union is our most important market today. I will repeat, we will not initiate a reduction in economic ties. That isn't in our interests. We have trade with them totaling $400 billion," Medvedev said in a report to the State Duma on Tuesday.

However, if Russia's Western partners commit such an error, "intensive work on other markets will allow us to minimize the damage," he said.

Nigerian Student found dead in Bangladeshi Lake



A 26year old Nigerian student, Tahir Manni Adam, studying at the Islamic University of Technology, Gazipur, Bangladesh has been found dead inside the lake in the school.
 
According to reports from a local newspaper in Bangladeshi, Dhaka Tribune, Adam, a third year student of Computer Science had gone to the lake to have a bath but unfortunately drowned. According to police reports, his body was recovered from the lake around 10.45pm on Saturday, April 19th and was declared dead on arrival at the Tongi Government Hospital. His body was later taken to Dhaka’s Samorita Hospital.

New confusion over abducted schoolgirls; parents insist 234 girls still missing

There was confusion on Monday in Chibok, Borno state, when parents of abducted schoolgirls at Government Girls Secondary School insisted that 234 girls abducted from the school were still missing.

The Borno state commissioner for education and the principal of the school had claimed that 129 girls were kidnapped when the suspected Boko Haram gunmen stormed their dormitories on April 14.

Of the number, the officials said, 28 initially escaped while another 16 broke free from the abductors days later. The remaining 85 are still missing, they claimed.

Delta nabs teenage gay cult in Warri known as Yansh





Vanguard reports that WARRI—Delta State Government, said that a cult of teenage homosexuals patronised by gay men exists in Warri.

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, who made the disclosure in his Easter message to Deltans at the First Baptist Church, Warri, said teenagers from ages 15 to 18 belong to the sect named Yansh, and live in rented apartments close to Enerhen Junction, Warri, where men come to sleep with them.

Chris Brown's bodyguard Christopher Hollosy, was found guilty on assault charges for punching a fan in the facial skin who tried to have a picture with Chris before the W Hotel in Washington D.C. back in October 2013.

Pics: Borno governor visits school where 200+ girls were abducted



 Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, today paid a trip to the Girls Government College, Chibok, where over 200 girls were abducted on April 14th, to have an on-the-spot assessment of the attack

While in the school, parents of the missing students told the governor that despite media reports that 129 girls were abducted, that the particular number is 234. They said the 129 girls earlier reported were science students who have been in the institution writing their WAEC exams, while the remaining 106 students were Arts students who have been at their hostels when the attackers arrived.

7 more girls escape from Boko Haram captivity




Seven more girls from the 100+ girls that were abducted from Government Girls Secondary School Chibok, Borno state on April 14th have escaped the Boko Harem den. According to the Borno State Governor, Kashim Settima who revealed this during his Easter message to the state, the girls escaped between Saturday night and Sunday evening and have reunited with their families. He explained from the 129 that were kidnapped, 52 have reunited with their families while 77 are yet to be found. 
 

Gunmen attack secondary school staff quarters today, kill 5-year-old



Boko Haram men in the early hours of today April 20th attacked the Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Yana, killing a 5year old girl and setting some buildings in the staff quaters ablaze.

Californian Stowaway: Teenager survives flight over Pacific in jet wheel well





A teenaged boy has survived a flight from California to Hawaii in the wheel well of a jetliner, an airline said on Sunday.

The 16-year-old, who was not identified, was spotted by airline personnel after Hawaiian Airlines flight 45 landed in Maui on Sunday morning on a flight from San Jose, California, the airline said, as reported by Reuters. The workers then notified security.

Ogun police arrest Arab for robbery



The Ogun State Police Command has arrested an Arab, Ali Mohammed, for robbery. Ali, according to state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, was arrested by policemen attached to the Ibafo Police Division on Sunday at Moko near Ibafo around 2am. Adejobi said, “The policemen had responded to a distress call from the area. About four armed men had burgled into a house and were robbing the occupants in the area. The policemen dislodged them and arrested one of them.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, has instructed the Divisional Police Officer in Ibafo station to look for the fleeing robbers and apprehend them; and also reduce crimes in the area.”
