Apologies to Azazi

As the security question in the country is gradually, if not completely, turning to a complete puzzle, which will take a lot more than the normal requirements to unravel, it is further aggravated by a myriad of confusing unfolding of events, criss-crossing of opinions and viewpoints from supposed experts and consultants on security, avalanche of media festering, and of course spinning and counter-spinning of moves. Behind all these drama and activities, more and more lives are being savagely and avoidably cut short, more lands are being crippled and turned in to wastelands of blood and despair, and the cycle continues with no foreseeable end in sight. No one is talking here of the economies of such places which will take only God knows how long to resuscitate.

No Wonder "Rere" dey "Run" By Pius Adesanmi

Aso Rock Villa. Living Room of the President’s private residence. Israeli, American, French, Chinese, Cambodian, Somalian, Sudanese, and Ghanaian security operatives protecting the Nigerian president are in the background. They try to make themselves unobtrusive. Also in the background, chanting Quranic hymns on mats imported from Chad, are marabouts from Niger, Senegal, and Gambia.

At the centre of the living room, some distance away from all the foreign intelligence and spiritual protectors of the President, the usual suspects gather, wearing gloomy faces: President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Tony Anenih, Baba Iyabo, Ayo Oritsejafor, Mohammed Adoke, Doyin Okupe, Reuben Abati, and other inconsequential AGIPs. Nobody is talking. Soft music oozes from a central entertainment system. An old school Yoruba tune probably supplied by Doyin Okupe and Reuben Abati:

"I have no doubts that my cell phone is wiretapped - it is obvious and I always have to keep it in mind. Of course, we have secret offices, where I can discuss some issues with my colleagues in confidence. But even if these rooms are not eavesdropped, I always have to assume that I am."

US Government lies every day - expert

Is there any way to censor media outlets without a single censor at hand? Doesn’t the very idea of suppressing media freedom in open market economies sound absurd? Well, it does. In this program we’re seeking a better understanding how the famously free Western media got to be tightly controlled? Looking into the problem are Mark Mason, PhD, Cultural and political analyst based in California, Eric Draitser, an independent geopolitical analyst based in New York City and the founder of StopImperialism.com, and Christoph R. Hörstel, government Consultant and publicist, based in Germany.

Africa and Europe: Before The Next Holocaust (Part 1)

One hopes that Europe and in fact the entire world is reflecting upon the rise of the far right political parties in recent European and country (national) elections. The trend is growing and the discussions about it are not getting the full attention.

Europe today moves precariously near those points and factors that led to the Second World War. There are serious and significant traces of similar circumstances today as what led to the eventual holocaust that characterised the war. The Jews were the biggest casualties of the Second World War. We know that the previous holocaust through the slave trade that took place in Africa tore the continent apart and this sad historical occurrence has been largely undermined and underreported. No repatriations have been officially paid. The plights of Africans in the hands of the Nazis were also covered up.
