Ugandan President ridicules Pres. GEJ for accepting international assistance
While speaking at a campaign rally yesterday, Uganda's President, Yoweri Museveni mocked President Jonathan for accepting foreign assistance to help fight Boko Haram. The former guerrila fighter said he'd rather commit suicide than ask the international community to guard his people against terrorists
“I have never called the United Nations to guard us. Me, Yoweri Museveni to say that I have failed to protect my people and I call on the UN: I would rather hang myself. We prioritized national security by developing a strong Army, otherwise our Uganda would be like DRC, South Sudan, Somalia or Nigeria where militias have disappeared with school children.
“It would be a vote of no confidence in our country and citizens if we cannot guarantee our security. What kind of persons would we be?” He said

Rev King Is In Prison But See What’s Happening In His Church
Seven years after the General Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Lagos, Rev Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, aka Reverend King, was convicted for murder and attempted murder, Folashade Adebayo attended a service in the church to see how things are going.
Last Sunday was another anniversary celebration of the Christian Praying Assembly, Isolo, Lagos. But as at 9am when Punch correspondent got there, the imposing three black gates of the church were still shut. If not for a number of cars parked opposite the church and a middle-aged man who stood by one of the imposing gates, praying earnestly, one would have concluded that the church, founded by the convicted Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, also known as Rev. King, was on a recess.

Jonathan may be Nigeria's last president - Ex-Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu
Former Governor of Abia state, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, while speaking with airport correspondents yesterday as he returned from a trip to the UK, said if things are not properly checked politically, President Jonathan might be the last president Nigeria will have.
"When I was travelling precisely on the 26 of April, I left this airport and I spoke to the airport correspondents and I said there was a need to collaborate with international organisations. You see, this issue is not about President Goodluck Jonathan. If we don’t take time and work together as Nigerians, Jonathan might be the last Nigerian President. Jonathan might be the Gorbachev of Nigeria. And that is the truth, so we better wake up. Political class, business class, military, civilians must now stand up to work for our internal security. Internal security is more important than anything we have done and I believe that once we are able to come together Nigeria will be alright. As of now the country is in pains; the country is in problem and some people are taking it very lightly.Continue after the break.

Direct your protest to terrorists – Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday urged those who have been protesting the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State, to henceforth direct their protest to the Boko Haram terrorists and not the government. The President also urged the protesters to learn from citizens of other countries who do not blame their governments for any terrorist act.
He has however admitted publicly for the first time that his administration was currently consulting with some stakeholders with a view to exploring what he called alternative methods of resolving the present crisis.

APC govs move to take over party structure
The battle for the control of the structure of the opposition All Progressives Congress appears to have taken a dramatic twist. This followed an unprecedented decision by the Rochas Okorocha-led Progressive Governors Forum, to install the Sokoto State Governor, Aliyu Wamakko and Senator Chris Ngige as chairman and secretary of the National Convention Planning Committee.
It was gathered that the National Executive Council meeting of the party held in Abuja, on Tuesday, was designed to throw up Kawu Baraje and Senator Ajayi Boroffice, as chairman and secretary of the committee, but the governors played a fast one on the party leaders. However, the Interim National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, dismissed the information as false.
