Father Kills 2-Year-old Son & Buries Him Secretly In Ejigbo Lagos
The police at Ejigbo division have begun a manhunt for a man who allegedly beat his 2-year old son to death and buried him secretly in Lagos, western Nigeria.
The suspect identified as Oni Mama reportedly beat Deji to death while the boy was crying and running after him in the morning.
The incident happened at 5 Fashola Street, Ejigbo, Lagos, where the suspect resides.
It was learnt after the boy died in the presence of the neighbours, his father packed the body into a sack and buried him secretly at an undisclosed location in the area.

Zamfara Attacks: IGP Orders Massive deployment of Special Forces; aerial Surveillance to commence
As part of wider strategies at tackling the recurrent attacks on some Zamfara communities, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar, CFR, NPM, mni, psc, has ordered the immediate massive deployment of Special Forces which comprises Ten (10) Units of Police Mobile Force (PMF), Three (3) Units of Conventional Policemen, a Unit of Counter-Terrorism personnel, Border Patrol Teams and Force Intelligence personnel drawn from various Squadrons and Commands to reinforce the operation of the existing Force in the affected areas. In addition, the Air Wing of the Nigeria Police will commence aerial patrol and surveillance in order to efficiently and effectively monitor the situation.

30 year-year-old College student commits suicide in Taraba
A 30-year-old student of the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, Auwal Haruna, allegedly committed suicide on Monday by hanging himself on the ceiling fan in his hotel room in Takum.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Joseph Kwaji, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Jalingo on Monday, saying the matter was under investigation.
According to him, the body of the deceased was found dangling from a ceiling fan at Mairiga Guest Inn, Takum.

200 killed in Zamfara massacre over the weekend
Cattle rustler this past weekend killed over 200 people who were attending a security meeting in Yargaladinma area of Dansadau community in Maru LGA of Zamfara state. The men said to have come in over a hundred motorbikes carrying guns and machetes, surrounded the building where the security meeting was holding and opened fire on them, killing over 100 on the spot. Some escaped, some died the next day while others were gravely injured.
The Emir of the Dansadau, Alhaji Husaini Adamu, while expressing his sadness over the attack said “This is not the first time the people of the area would be facing such problem but this attack was the worst of its kind in the history of killings in this area.”.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) won’t renew Keshi’s contract
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is not likely to renew Stephen Keshi’s contract as Super Eagles manager after the summer World Cup in Brazil irrespective of the team’s performance.
A source at the football house disclosed that the federation has started bracing up for life after Keshi’s tenure, insisting that the coach has limited tolerance for candid advice from the authorities.
“I can tell you right here that Keshi’s contract will not be renewed. Of course, another test case for him is the World Cup; we have given him all the necessary assistance and free hand he requires to succeed, but the World Cup will be the destination point between us,” a member of the NFF board said.

A soldier has claimed that he witnessed incidents that suggested some military chiefs work with Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East.
The soldier told the Voice of America Hausa Service how his military unit in Borno State was ambushed by Boko Haram members.
He said the commander of a nearby military unit in Bama recently sought assistance from his unit in carrying out a raid.
