IGP MD Abubakar Still Serving His Fatherland - Press Release




The Police High Command is not in receipt of any official communication from the appropriate Government quarters informing the IGP of his inevitable glorious retirement from the Force. Therefore, IGP MD Abubakar, CFR, NPM, mni, psc who was fully on his desk today Thursday 15th May, 2014 has continued to perform his official duties as the 16th indigenous Inspector General of Police.   While thanking Nigerians for their overwhelming show of concern over the rumour, the IGP restates his loyalty and his unalloyed commitment to the service to his fatherland.

BARBARIC: Human Skull Serving As Soap Dish Found In House Of Suspect -




The case started with a seek out a suspect who had been threatening the life of his victim, saying that his life have been paid for, and the victim would therefore need to cover a ransom to redeem his life. But the authorities were astounded when, within their bid to arrest the suspect, they found the skull of a person serving as a soap dish in his house.

The bizarre but true story occurred in Ifon, in Ose Local Government section of Ondo State recently.

Crime reports learnt that the suspect, Aigbohai Jimoh (25) in connivance with his partner in crime, Ikujeniya Yinka (26), developed an ingenuity that may be fetching him cool cash with little stress. He reportedly sent a text to one Samuel Afolayemi on June 21, demanding a amount of N400,000.

Serving PDP Senator Pius Ewherido 50, Dies - R.I.P



A serving senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly under the platform of DPP, Pius Ewherido, has passed on. Senator Ewherido died today at the National Hospital in Abuja after suffering a stroke.   The late senator was the Vice chairman Senate committee on Marine Transport, and was a member of the committee on Trade and Investment.

Judge Urges Prison Inmates To Take WASSCE, UTME, Etc. While Serving Their Jail Terms



The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice A.A Philips, has encouraged prison inmates to sit for examinations, such as the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) while serving jail terms, as being imprisoned does not deter them from sitting for such examinations.
Justice Philips, represented by the chief registrar of the Lagos State Judiciary, Mr D.A Safari, made this statement at the launching of an educational facility centre tagged “Prison Knowledge Centre (PKC),” donated by the Zaccheus Onumba Dibiaezue Memorial Library (ZODML) group, at the Ikoyi Prisons in Lagos, recently.
