Oscar Pistorius' older brother also accused of killing a woman

Carl Pistorius (left), the older brother of the Blade Runner, accused of killing his girlfriend, is also facing a manslaughter charge. Carl is charged with culpable homicide over the accidental death of a woman in a car crash in 2010.
His lawyer Kenny Oldwage, who also represents Oscar Pistorius, confirmed the charges today. Carl Pistorius appeared in court just two days before his brother's bail hearing last week, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the BBC, police conducted tests on Carl Pistorius' blood at the time of the accident, and he was found not to have been drinking alcohol.
Carl was initially accused of reckless or negligent driving, but the matter was later provisionally withdrawn. However, the charges were reinstated after the victim's family said they believed it was more than an accident. Carl Pistorius' trial is set to begin at the end of March.

PISTORIUS' BROTHER FACING CULPABLE HOMICIDE CHARGE

JOHANNESBURG (AP) -- The brother of Olympic star Oscar Pistorius is facing a culpable homicide charge for a 2008 road death, compounding problems for the family after the double-amputee runner was charged with premeditated murder in the Feb. 14 shooting death of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Lawyer Kenny Oldwage said in a statement that Carl had been involved in a car accident `'in which a woman motorcyclist sadly lost her life." He said that `'there is no doubt that Carl is innocent and the charge will be challenged in court."
Carl Pistorius was already in court last Thursday, as his brother Oscar was facing a bail hearing, and will appear again at the end of next month.

Oscar Pistorius may have killed his girlfriend in a fit of rage

He claimed he mistook his girlfriend for a burglar when he shot her, but South African police has dismissed the claim. They believe the blade runner killed his model girlfriend, 29 year old Reeva Steenkamp, in a fit of rage possibly caused by performance-boosting steroids.

First steroids were found in his home. Then Reeva was found in her night wear, which means she didn't just enter his home at the time he shot her at 3am Thursday morning. The police found a bloody cricket bat in the bedroom. Reeva's skull had been 'crushed' in the attack according to police. They also found a smashed bathroom door. Plus neighbours claimed they heard argument coming from his home earlier in the evening.

Blood-Stained Cricket Bat Found By Police At Oscar Pistorius’ Home

The murder case filed against Olympic star Oscar Pistorius by the South African police has taken a new turn as the police have found a bloodied cricket bat at the home of Oscar Pistorius, a local newspaper reported Sunday, following the Valentine’s Day killing of his model girlfriend.
The star Olympian and Paralympian athlete was charged on Friday with the murder of 29-year-old Reeva Steenkamp who was shot dead at his luxury Pretoria home, an incident Pistorius has denied was not premeditated as suggested by the police.
Police sources close to the investigation told the independent City Press newspaper that Steenkamp’s skull had been “crushed”.
