Tank Farms To Be Moved From Apapa-Oshodi Road





The Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has disclosed that there were plans to relocate the tank farms along the Oshodi/Apapa expressway as a way of finding a lasting solution to the unending gridlock.

Obanikoro made this known yesterday in Lagos, during his visit to Oshodi/Apapa expressway. He also urged the Lagos State Government to provide a permanent parking bay for trucks, from where drivers could be reached.

Photos: Triana Building in Apapa on fire



 The popular Triana building on Commercial Rd in Apapa, Lagos was gutted by fire in early hours of this morning June 25th. The fire lasted for hours before firefighters could actually put it out...but not before an incredible million of naira worth of property was destroyed. See more photos after the break.

Just In: Fire Guts 150 Spare Part Shops In Apapa



The fire was caused by an electrical power surge in one of the shops at a section of the plaza some minutes after 3pm. The infreno started from a shop on the ‘B’ line of the market few minutes after the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, restored power to the shopping complex.
The Speed Well Plaza is estimated to accommodate no fewer than 200 shops, mostly spare parts traders. A resident of the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “This whole incident started when PHCN restored power here around 1.00p.m.
