What has Jonathan done for the Yoruba, Nigeria ?

Mr Jonathan became the Acting President of Nigeria on 9 February 2010 - 6 May 2010.
He assumed the office of the President of Nigeria on 6 May 2010.
Prior to Jonathan ascension into the presidency of Nigeria on 9 February 2010, Mr Obasanjo, a half Ibo and half Yoruba President of Nigeria had earlier rigged the entire General Elections in Yorubaland except in Lagos, Kwara, Kogi, Edo and Delta states, on two consecutive periods - 2003 and 2007.
Continue..

In 2003, however, the Yoruba decided not to proceed to court, but allowed Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo; Ayo Fayose of Ekiti; Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun; Gbenga Daniel of Ogun and Olusegun Agagu of Ondo, all rigged as governors, by Obasanjo, to have their rules.  Again in 2007, Mr Obasanjo repeated the same scheme. He rigged the General Elections in Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo States respectively, and handed over the presidency of Nigeria to Mr Yar'Adua. This time around, however, the Yoruba went to tribunal.

For two years, nothing happened until Yar'Adua protracted illness, then the tribunal sacked Olusegun Agagu of the PDP and declared Mimiko winner of the Ondo State election. He became governor on February 2009.
Obasanjo was visibly upset by this judgment and vowed never to permit the court ruled against the PDP any more.

A month after Obasanjo's vows, specifically on March 17, 2009, the Appeal Court sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, declared Alao-Akala of the PDP as the winner of the 14 April 2007 governorship election against Senator Abiola Ajimobi. Everyone, including Obasanjo knows that Senator Abiola Ajimobi won that election. Obasanjo, being a terror, compelled the court to execute his bidding in connivance with Yar'Adua handlers.

Then came President Jonathan, first as Acting President 9 February 2010 to 6 May 2010 and later as President from 6 May 2010. After only five months of Jonathan's presidency, but worthwhile legal battle spanning 41 months and seven days, Dr Kayode Fayemi, emerged as the governor of Ekiti State, according to a unanimous decision of the Appeal Court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. Under Jonathan, a PDP member, but democratic, unlike autocratic Obasanjo and Yar'Adua, the court sacked Segun Oni of the PDP.

A month after Fayemi's victory and just under six months of Jonathan's presidency, justices of the Federal Appeal Court, Ibadan finally declared Aregbesola the winner of the 2007 election, ordering that he be sworn in as governor by noon 27 November 2010. It was also under Jonathan and in 2011 that the APC won the gubernatorial elections in Ogun, Oyo, Lagos, and Edo states after Osun and Ekiti states had earlier been won in the courts also under Jonathan.

Considering what Obasanjo, a half Ibo and half Yoruba did to the Yoruba in 2003 and 2007, Jonathan is an honorary Yoruba citizen.  In case you are still wondering what Jonathan has done for the Yoruba, certainly this is fundamental and there are even more.  The 2015 Presidential election is about Power. It is about Control and Wealth Distribution. APC established media propaganda will not win the election for the Gambari. PDP economic failure will also not win the election for the Gambari. The election would be won on emotional needs. The Yoruba nation desired Regional Autonomy. Gambari had always been against Regional Autonomy and enslaved and colonized Yorubaland for 50 years.

In the absence of Fashola as the APC Presidential candidate... four more years for President Jonathan.
