A US Geological Survey spokeswoman, Dr Lucy Jones said it was the strongest earthquake in Los Angeles since the last aftershocks from the 1994 Northridge quake.
No casualties or destruction has been reported. Meanwhile Nicki Minaj who resides in the community where the earthquake happened stated that the whole experience made her to re-evaluate her life.
