The gunmen attacked the local police station and the financial institution with explosives, shooting sporadically.
The attack, based on the eyewitnesees, happened at about 9 pm, and lasted for about two hours, uninterrupted.

"The bank was badly damaged because the attackers used items suspected to be explosives in gaining access to the bank.
"Honestly, it had been a terrible experience.
"The gunmen were well-armed, and as such no you can dare them. We hid while they conducted their operations. Even the police couldn't go nearby the attackers.
"It's unfortunate; a predicament where armed men would successfully storm a bank at that early hour of the night," an eyewitness said.
Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, who visited the scene yesterday, urged residents to be "aware of the environmental surroundings and report any suspicious person to the security agencies towards ensuring the security of lives and property for all."The Police commissioner Mr. Olufemi Adenaike said his men repelled the attack on the police station after the robbers had successfully attacked the bank.
"Our men repelled the attack, but none of the suspects was arrested. We have since commenced investigations to track down the robbers. Nobody was killed in the attack, and everywhere is calm," he explained
