Bomb Found Near Kano Bank



Banks in Kano, Monday afternoon, hurriedly closed shop following the recovery and detonation of high caliber improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted in one of the first generation banks located within the Kano Business District.
Eyewitness recounts the bomb was strategically concealed under one the bank official’s car, was removed by the anti -bomb disposal team and detonated. The account explained that on arriving, the police team cordoned off the affected stretch of Murtala Muhammad way.

The development forced banks in the troubled city to hurriedly close shop as customers who besieged the banks were locked out.
Confirming the incident, the police Public Relation officer of Kano Command, ASP Magaji Musa Majia said, "We received a report that a strange object is lying fallow in the premises of a bank along Murtala Muhammad way.
"We dispatched our Anti-bomb Disposal team who established it was an Improvised Explosive Devise and was defused immediately."
The police imagemaker stated that normalcy had since returned and enjoin the general public to go about their legitimate duties without fear of molestation.
It would be recalled that a bomb was detected near a first generation bank around 1pm at Murtala Mohammed Way in Kano. Police anti-bomb squad cordoned off the area and detonated the device.
