Pics: Singing duo MamuZEE TwiNs attacked by Gunmen in Abuja



 Singing duo MamuZEE TwiNs were attacked by armed robbers on Gwagwalada road, in Abuja yesterday April 22nd while returning from the immigration office. The gunmen, thought to be armed robbers, shot at them and shattered their car.

The Twins are still at a healthcare facility now, but are considered doing fine and will return home today.. More pics after the break...

Nollywood actor dies after battle with kidney ailment




Nollywood actor Chris Nkulor has offered after a struggle with a kidney related disease. He died yesterday at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching hospital Ile-Ife where he was undergoing treatment for the ailment. May his soul rest in peace. Ase.

Aftermath of Nyanya, Abuja Bomb blast: Military checkpoint causes Massive traffic gridlock



In the wake of the Nyanya bomb blast which occurred on Monday April 14th, which killed over 80 people, military checkpoints have been mounted at various strategic road junctions to double check human and vehicular activities in the FCT.
 
Motorists/workers say these checkpoints have grown to be a serious problem for them because they lose many useful hours in traffic with a number of them getting late to work and receiving queries.
 

Video : Vybz Kartel nabbed on video committing murder; video leaks online




 On April 3rd Jamaican dance-hall star Vybz Kartel was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing a former associate, Clive 'Lizard' Williams. He just filed an appeal against his sentence but it's unlikely he will make any headway with that because his murder video just leaked online.

When he was arrested back in 2011, the center piece of the murder case was a video tape made at the crime scene (Vybz' own home) implicating Vybz and his co-defendants. Well, someone just leaked that video footage...and it's chilling! They chopped the guy into pieces...that's why a body has never been found. This guy is ruthless, OMG!

Checkout Fulani herdsmen who confessed to being Boko Haram members



They're the faces of a number of the people causing terror in Nigeria. These 17 men you see above are Fulani Herdsmen who have been recently captured by the military. They were part of the group that terrorized residents in Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba and Zamfara recently. They also took part in the recent killing of hundreds of men and women and burning of houses in Wukari, Taraba state. After their capture, they confessed to being members of the Boko Haram sect.

Spouse Brutality - Photos: Ogun state APC Chieftain violently assaults wife




Just got this mail from an NGO that handles domestic violence cases. According for their story, the woman above could be the wife of a powerful Ogun-state APC chieftain named Bashorun Bayo Awosanya. He reportedly attacked her at their residence in Sagamu on Easter Sunday April 20th around 8.30pm after an argument. The girl was saved by their gateman who heard her cries for help from his station. 

Unknown Gunmen shoot and kill 50 in fresh attack in Taraba



Unknown gunmen yesterday struck residents of Gidan Aku community on the outskirts Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State killing no fewer than 50 people with many seriously injured.
According to reports, the men who stormed the area with sophisticated weapons allegedly came in from Nassarawa state and attacked the residents while they were sleeping. They set the whole place on fire forcing residents to flee into nearby bushes for safety.
An eyewitness and also a lawyer in the community, Luka Agbu said no security officer came to their rescue during the attack

Robbers raid 8 Lagos Streets, rape, vandalise 30 vehicles in 7-hr rampage



In accordance with a written report by Punch, armed robbers numbering about 60 stormed 8 different streets in the Mushin part of Lagos in early hours of Monday morning and operated unchallenged for approximately 7 hours. The armed men robbed, raped some girls and destroyed several cars throughout the operation. Full report below...
The hoodlums, who reportedly belonged to two cult groups – Akala boys and Toheeb’s gang – ravaged New Balogun, Euba, Ayonuga, Tiamiyu, Haruna, Ereko, Oyedele streets and Coker Lane. A mosque on Coker Lane was not spared as the worshippers, who slept in the mosque after a vigil, were robbed by the hoodlums.
One of the people in the mosque told Punch that the robbers fired bullets for over one hour before robbing from house-to-house. Continue...

Ghana Police makes headway in Ayogu's demise investigations




Based on Channels TV, the parents of 19 year old Godwin Ayogu, the 300-level student of Cape Coast University, Ghana, who was found murdered on February 19th (if you missed it, read here), said the the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, who has been working together with the Ghanaian Police, told them that some suspects have now been arrested by the police in connection with her son's murder.

Lilian Ayogu told Channels TV today Monday April 21 that they were shocked to discover that the folks arrested in connection with her son's murder were not just his friends, but were also Nigerians.
“Last week, the Nigerian Ambassador over there said that they have made some headway. He said that they got some guys and that the funniest part was that they are all Nigerians. Most of the guys they got were his friends.
“One person had earlier questioned why Godwin’s friends were on the run after his death,” she said.

Russia is on God's side - Pat Buchanan



Analyzing Vladimir Putin’s speech on the day when Russia reunited with Crimea, Pat Buchanan made a conclusion that "Russia is on God's side. The West is Gomorrah." Pat Buchanan, Former Assistant to the President for Communications gave his assessment of Putin’s actions. According to him, Russia is "planting Russia's flag firmly on the side of traditional Christianity", standing firmly in its position against reproductive choice and LGBT rights. This, according to Buchanan is the evidence that God is on Putin's side in his showdown with the West.

In his column on April 4 Buchanan named Putin as the global leader against "a hedonistic secular and social revolution coming out of the West".

'Witch hunt' for pro-Russian activists in Ukraine conducted by US - Russian Senator



A senior Russian lawmaker told RIA news agency that a campaign to capture pro-Russian activists by Ukrainian authorities was launched at the behest of the United States. 

"The same reward was offered in the US in times of McCarthyism, during the witch hunt and as the US controls the Maidan, they expanded this practice to Ukraine, where it was gladly picked up," said Igor Morozov, referring to $10,000 cash rewards offered by authorities in Dnipropetrovsk Region for each pro-Russian activist detained.

Russia will turn to other markets to minimize impact of any EU economic sanctions - PM Medvedev



If Europe approves economic sanctions, Russia can minimize the damage by turning to other markets, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said. "The European Union is our most important market today. I will repeat, we will not initiate a reduction in economic ties. That isn't in our interests. We have trade with them totaling $400 billion," Medvedev said in a report to the State Duma on Tuesday.

However, if Russia's Western partners commit such an error, "intensive work on other markets will allow us to minimize the damage," he said.

Nigerian Student found dead in Bangladeshi Lake



A 26year old Nigerian student, Tahir Manni Adam, studying at the Islamic University of Technology, Gazipur, Bangladesh has been found dead inside the lake in the school.
 
According to reports from a local newspaper in Bangladeshi, Dhaka Tribune, Adam, a third year student of Computer Science had gone to the lake to have a bath but unfortunately drowned. According to police reports, his body was recovered from the lake around 10.45pm on Saturday, April 19th and was declared dead on arrival at the Tongi Government Hospital. His body was later taken to Dhaka’s Samorita Hospital.

New confusion over abducted schoolgirls; parents insist 234 girls still missing

There was confusion on Monday in Chibok, Borno state, when parents of abducted schoolgirls at Government Girls Secondary School insisted that 234 girls abducted from the school were still missing.

The Borno state commissioner for education and the principal of the school had claimed that 129 girls were kidnapped when the suspected Boko Haram gunmen stormed their dormitories on April 14.

Of the number, the officials said, 28 initially escaped while another 16 broke free from the abductors days later. The remaining 85 are still missing, they claimed.

Delta nabs teenage gay cult in Warri known as Yansh





Vanguard reports that WARRI—Delta State Government, said that a cult of teenage homosexuals patronised by gay men exists in Warri.

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, who made the disclosure in his Easter message to Deltans at the First Baptist Church, Warri, said teenagers from ages 15 to 18 belong to the sect named Yansh, and live in rented apartments close to Enerhen Junction, Warri, where men come to sleep with them.

Chris Brown's bodyguard found guilty for punching a fan.



Chris Brown's bodyguard Christopher Hollosy, was found guilty on assault charges for punching a fan in the facial skin who tried to have a picture with Chris before the W Hotel in Washington D.C. back in October 2013.
Chris Brown's trial for the same assault is expected to start soon.

Pics: Borno governor visits school where 200+ girls were abducted



 Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, today paid a trip to the Girls Government College, Chibok, where over 200 girls were abducted on April 14th, to have an on-the-spot assessment of the attack

While in the school, parents of the missing students told the governor that despite media reports that 129 girls were abducted, that the particular number is 234. They said the 129 girls earlier reported were science students who have been in the institution writing their WAEC exams, while the remaining 106 students were Arts students who have been at their hostels when the attackers arrived.

GEJ to Nyako: You’re the real sponsor of insurgents



The altercation between the Presidency and the Adamawa State governor, Admiral Murtala Nyako (rtd) worsened yesterday as the former described the governor as a sponsor of insurgents, alleging that Nyako recently ‘imported’ some Fulani fighters into the country.

At the weekend, Nyako wrote his fellow northern governors, asking them to join him in instituting a legal action against President Goodluck Jonathan whom he accused of embarking on ethnic cleansing by ensuring that the ongoing insurgent acts persist in the North.
