A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the Federal Government and the Nigerian police to pay for suspended Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, N50million as exemplary damages for unlawfully detaining him and seizing his passport on February 20th. The court also asked the authorities to immediately return his passport and warned them against arresting or harassing him again.

544 Nigerians "voluntarily" Return From Switzerland – Swiss Govt
This is contained in a statement issued by the FOM at the end the 5th Meeting of the Technical Committee for the Swiss-Nigerian migration partnership on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to the statement, Nigeria is the third main country of origin for asylum seekers in Switzerland in 2013 with 1,764 asylum applications.

Based on a Punch report, a policeman mounted on the Plateau State Police Command was dismissed yesterday from the police after being found guilty of luring and r*ping a 4-year-old girl identified as Helen.

Lagos State Government has offered to help any new student of the State’s University who stands the risk of losing his/her admission as a result of indigene and any current student who may have problem coping with the fees due to the same reason.
The government explaining its principle of “No child must be left behind” said, it has since the introduction of new fees regime in the Lagos State University three years ago consecutively doubled its budget for scholarship for its residents to enable indigent students have access to education. 2 Female Presenters Bare It All On Live Television
Two female presenters shocked their viewers on Monday after taking off their clothes on live television. The co-hosts, Sherri Shepard and Jenny McCarthy of co-hosts of the television talk show ”The View” surprised their viewers because they turned things up a level by taking off their tops, while they continued reporting the news. The All Progressives Congress on Tuesday asked the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mukhtar, to sanction Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja for engaging in mischief capable of bringing the Bench into disrepute.
The party accused Ademola of going beyond “the reliefs” sought by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in its suit by restraining its lawmakers from engaging in any act that could lead to a change of leadership in the House of Representatives.
It, however, said in a statement by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, that it was wrong for anyone to insinuate that Ademola ordered its lawmakers who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to vacate their seats in the House.

Fifteen civilians have been killed and 17 others injured after a suicide attack in Maiduguri, Borno state by suspected Boko Haram militants, the military said.
Chris Olukolade, Defence spokesman said one of the victims was a member of a civilian vigilante group and that the blast, on the outskirts of the capital of restive Borno state, Maiduguri, destroyed eight vehicles.
“Six of the terrorists died while one has been arrested,” he added in a statement.

Etisalat Nigeria Dumps Over 2000 Staffs Nationwide
Telecommunications company, Etisalat Nigeria Friday sacked over two thousand permanent staffs across the country. The sacked workers were paid off our source say.
The Telecom operator seeks to hire adhoc staff to run the operations of the company as the company is said broke and can no longer retain the permanent work force.
Most of those sacked have expressed surprise and disappointment over the development which has thrown them into the already saturated unemployment market.
