GEJ lambasted for travelling with Alimodu Sheriff to an anti-terrorism meeting



About per week after he was accused to be a Boko Haram sponsor by Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, former Borno state governor Alimodu Sheriff accompanied the president of Nigeria to an anti-terrorism meeting in Chad. President Jonathan pictured above with Alimodu Sheriff (pictured left) and Chadian president, Idriss Deby where they discussed just how to combat terrorism.

'I like a girl to dress classier' Sofia Vergara's ex Nick Loeb slams her




 They dated from 2010 until May 2014, but according to Nick Loeb, actress Sofia Vergara was never his type. And you wonder why he stayed with her that long and even proposed to her. In a new interview with New York Post, the 39 year old businessman (pictured left) slammed his ex-fiancee's choice of dresses, saying he preferred women who dressed classier.


"I'm sort of conservative, so I like a girl to dress a little classier." Loeb said.
Sofia, 42, is known to regularly wear clothes that show off her cleavage, so when NYP asked Loeb if he liked Vergara-style cleavage, he said;
“No. I’ve always sort of liked the more classic, elegant look on a woman.” Ouch!

FG reopens 1st Consultant Hospital where Ebola Transporter, Patrick Sawyer died



The Federal Government has reopened First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos where Liberian Patrick Sawyer, the very first case of Ebola in Nigeria, died from complications of the disease.  

In a letter provided for the Lagos state Ministry of Health, the Federal Government said after having undergone three rounds of state-certified decontamination processes based on world standard, a healthcare facility is free to carry on its business of administering healthcare to patients.

Ebola: Doctors reject September 22 schools resumption date



The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has rejected the Monday September 22nd resumption directive given by FG to all Primary and Secondary schools due to the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.
The NMA speaking through its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Olawunmi Layaki, said they expect all schools to remain closed until December or early next year when all Ebola suspects under surveillance have been cleared and certified free of the virus.

How I was raped by soldier for 5 hours under a tree — Student





IBADAN — A 23-year-old National Diploma, ND, student of Mass Communication Department, Ibarapa Polytechnic, yesterday, narrated how she was raped under a tree by one of the security men attached to Operation Burst set up by Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State to check criminality in the state.

The incident was said to have happened in Eruwa from 10.30 pm on August 29 this year while she was returning after seeing off a friend.

She said she was raped repeatedly for five hours before she was let off the hook by the rapist soldier.

Hit & Run driver Kills LAWMA official In Lagos





A hit-and-run driver of a jeep knocked down two highway managers of the Lagos State Waste Management Agency on Monday along Iyana Oworo Expressway in the state.
Punch learnt that although the driver managed to escape, the vehicle’s number plate fell in the process and had been handed over to security officials.It was gathered that the driver, who was on top speed, wanted to beat the traffic snarl when he rammed into the victims, identified as Lateefat Sulyman and Fatimoh Ajetunmobi.

Canada Threatens New Sanctions Against Russia Over Ukraine: Reports





Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said his country is ready to tighten sanctions against Russia in case the ceasefire in the east of Ukraine is not continued, Canadian CTV News broadcaster has reported.


“Obviously we want to see a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine. Let's give a political solution a chance. Obviously if more provocation and more negative aspects emerge, we would advocate strongly for additional measures [against Russia],” Baird said Monday following the meeting with the EU High Representative Catherine Ashton in Ottawa.

Iraqi Prime Minister Pledges to Eliminate Contradictions Between Baghdad, Kurdistan




Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi, appointed in early August, said Monday during the parliament session that one of the strategic goals of the new cabinet is to settle disputes between the country’s central government and the regional government of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Iraqi parliament session dedicated to the appointment of the cabinet of ministers was broadcast live by the country’s state television. “My government pledges to eliminate the existing contradictions with the government of Iraqi Kurdistan,” Abadi said.

US Hopes New Iraqi Government to Unite Country, Contribute to Fight Against Islamic State.





The US authorities hope that the new Iraqi government will be able to unite the country and make a major contribution to the fight against the Islamic State militants, US Secretary of State told reporters.


“Just a few hours ago, overcoming the obstacle of ethnic and sectarian divides, the Iraqi parliament approved a new and inclusive government, one that has the potential to unite all of Iraq’s diverse communities for a strong Iraq, a united Iraq, and to give those communities the chance to build the future that all Iraqis desire and deserve,” Kerry said Monday evening.
