Nigerian Student in Malaysia Murdered by Malaysian police (Graphic Photo)



Nigerian student Adelabu Tunde (pictured above), from Ekiti State was allegedly shot dead by Malaysian police recently, this is according to his friends. Below is how they describe what happened 
"Police was raiding in another apartment, Tunde and his friends come back from school then the police car followed them. Tunde ran and got shot in head by a police man. Please share the truth. He was not fighting, he was shot by police that came for extra pocket money.! And the police left the scene as soon as he was shot." - Witness
There's a pic of Tunde's corpse after the cut, which they sent to me to prove this sad incident really occurred. They are calling on the Nigerian government to intervene and help them as they say they are constantly harassed and assaulted by the authorities in Malaysia for no reason. Don't they have a Nigerian embassy in Malaysia? Why don't they ever get involved? See the graphic pic after the break.

Malaysia Airlines' loses contract with airplane carrying 239 people'



This is not good at all. A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200 carrying 239 people lost contact over the South China Sea on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, raising fears that the plane might have plunged into the pacific ocean.

The plane, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members, lost communication two hours into the flight in Vietnam's airspace at 1.20am local time, China's official Xinhua News Agency reports.

Left too soon: Top Nigerian music producer HCode dies



 Top Soul/Hiphop producer, Harry Mordi popularly known as HCode has passed on. Hcode, who produced 2face Idibia and Vector's Get Down died last night after suffering an Asthma attack. He was just in his mid 20s. Too sad! May his soul rest in peace, Ase.

Presidency Begs Military: Please Do not Abort Democracy



The federal government on Friday pleaded with the military not to interrupt governance in the country, just as it gave assurance that the problem of insurgency, communal clashes among other challenges would all soon be things of the past.

Information minister, Labaran Maku, while handing over in Abuja, as Supervising Minister of Defence to the new minister, Gen. Aliyu Gusau, told the military not to consider the utterances against 2015 as well as Boko Haram fight especially by the Borno State governor, Kashim Shetima, saying that “even the state governor has the misfortune of discretion.”

Libya threatens to bomb N Korea-flagged oil tanker if it ignores Navy orders



Libya will bomb a North Korea-flagged oil tanker trying to load crude at an eastern port controlled by armed protesters if the vessel fails to follow orders from the Navy, Prime Minister Ali Zeidan said on Saturday.

"The tanker will be bombed if it doesn't follow orders when leaving (the port). This will be an environmental disaster," Zeidan told reporters, calling the docking of the tanker a criminal act violating Libyan's sovereignty.

Cuba condemns attempts by Western countries to destabilize and overthrow gov'ts of Venezuela, Ukraine.



Cuba on Thursday condemned the attempts by some foreign countries to destabilize and overthrow the governments of Venezuela and Ukraine.

Speaking at a press conference, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed his country's "invariable and total solidarity" with Venezuela and its constitutional president, Nicolas Maduro.
The minister also denounced foreign attempts of interference in Venezuela, particularly a recent resolution passed by U.S. Congress that backs a proposal by Panama to ask the Organization of American States (OAS) to mediate the Venezuelan crisis.

Centenary Award to Abacha not unlawful –Presidency



The Presidency has defended the centenary award given to the late military dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha, saying the award was not a glorification of corruption.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, who defended the posthumous award given to Abacha during Nigeria’s centenary celebration last week, said that the award was not meant to celebrate moral virtues.

13 students land in hospital in Lagos after inhaling poisonous fumes




13 students of Ogba Junior Grammah School, Ogba, in Ojodu Lagos collapsed yesterday March 6th after inhaling an unidentified poisonous fumes discharged from one of the cottage factories in Ogba Shopping Arcade, Vanguard reports.
This came four months after 25 of the students of the same school collapsed after inhaling an unidentified chemical waste discharged into drainage by a Photo Laboratory, situated in the Shopping Arcade....

Terrorists' Nigeria Butcher Apprehended by Nigerian forces



Nigerian security forces operating with the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) yesterday repelled a dusk attack by terrorists in their bid to overrun markets in communities in the outskirts of Monguno and NNPC at New Marte, Borno State along Chadian border, this is according to a press release from the Defence Headquarters, Ministry of Defence.

Lagos Moves To Avert Building Collapse



Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) in collaboration with Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has organized town hall meeting to enlighten all stakeholders in Ikorodu and its environs on ways to prevent incessant building collapse in the State.

The General Manager, LASBCA, Dr. (Mrs.) K.A. Animashaun-Odunayo in her speech at the occasion stated that the purpose of the programme was for the betterment of Lagos in particular and Nigeria at large.

Fuel scarcity: NNPC supplies 209 million litres



The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has said it supplied over 209 million litres of fuel to Lagos and other neighbouring cities in the last 24 hours. According to the corporation, over 209 million litres of premium motor spirit otherwise called petrol was discharged in Lagos ports in the last 24 hours.  The acting Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, NNPC, Dr. Omar Ibrahim, in a statement, said efforts were being made to return normalcy to the fuel supply chain in the country.

A 42-year-old father, Pedro Anegbe, has told an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court that a spirit asked him to rape his 15-year-old daughter to get a job.  He said the voice ordred him to rape the girl shortly after he lost his job and was idle at home.  Anegbe was arraigned on two counts for defiling his 15-year-old daughter (name withheld) at their home on Ifelodun Street, Fatolu Ipaja, Lagos State.

Alleged rape: Police release Obesere

The State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos State has released popular musician, Obesere, who was accused of raping a 29-year-old student of the Polytechnic Ibadan.
Obesere, whose real name is Abass Akande, was invited for interrogation at the Department 14 of the SCID.
Obesere, popularly called Papa Tosibe, was alleged to have raped the victim at his Okota home.  Policemen at the SCID told our correspondent that the musician was invited to the SCID on Wednesday and released immediately.
A police source said,
 “We invited him based on the petition we received and he has written a statement. He said the woman was his girlfriend and she had come to visit him at home.

He debunked these rumours during the ceremony of swearing-in of the 11 new ministers yesterday.

Gambler drags casino to court after losing $500,000 in US



A California man who lost $500,000 at blackjack and pai gow is suing a new Las Vegas casino, alleging he was too drunk to be allowed to gamble over a 17-hour period just before Super Bowl weekend.
Mark A. Johnston of Ventura, California, is claiming he shouldn’t have to pay the Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino the $500,000 debt because employees served him so much alcohol that he suffered a blackout and was unable to remember the losses or even his gambling, the lawsuit alleges.
In an interview Thursday with CNN, Johnston contended he was plied with liquor and victimized in an old-time hustle.
