Fate smiled on an unidentified young boy hawking on Alhaji Jamiu Sulaimon Street in Itele, Ota area of Ogun State on Tuesday evening as he was rescued from kidnappers in the area, just as he was about to be killed.
No 3, Alhaji Jamiu Sulaimon, where the boy was rescued is unarguably one of the most beautiful houses on the street but no one could have imagined the horror discovered behind its high walls.

5 Nigerian Police men Nabbed For Renting AK-47 To Kidnappers



OWERRI — Five policemen, serving in Imo State police command, including the armourer of New Owerri police division, are now in detention over how one of the AK-47 rifles officially issued for guard duties, ended up in the hands of dare devil kidnappers operating in the state.

Confirming the develpoment to Vanguard in a telephone interview yesterday, the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Musa Katsina, said while four of the five policemen were explaining their involvement in the sordid act, the armourer is being tried for negligent conduct.

Kidnappers abduct former footballer's Dad, Wants ₦50m




Kidnappers have grabbed the 83-year-old father of a former Super Eagles Player, Chikelue Iloenyosi, in Njikoka Local Government, Anambra State. We learned that the victim, David Iloenyosi, was returning  from the church on Friday when he was abducted by the assailants. A household source said the kidnappers plugged Chikelue father's car and then put him in to another car before boosting off.

He said,
“On Monday, Pa Iloenyosi (James) was driving home from morning Mass when some men in a Toyota Camry blocked his Peugeot 504 and pulled him out of his vehicle. They subsequently put him inside their own vehicle and sped off.

Abductors Of Oronto Douglas'Brother Demand ₦500m From Family




Kidnappers of Augusta Douglas-Ayam, the elder sister to the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Mr. Oronto Douglas, have demanded N500m from the Douglas family.  Her husband was contacted on the phone by the kidnappers who are insisting the family must pay a N500m ransom. Mrs Augusta was kidnapped from her shop Monday night by nine men who were dressed up in military uniforms.  The pinnacle of the Douglas family, Romeo, has appealed to the kidnappers to release her unconditionally on humanitarian ground. Sad.

Gov. Adams Oshiomhole signs death sentence for kidnappers bill in to Edo state law



Edo State governor Adams Oshiomhole today October 18th signed into the Edo State law, a bill that prescribes the death penalty for kidnappers. The death penalty is not just for kidnappers who kill their victims, its for many acts of kidnapping whether it involves murder or not. The newest bill also states that houses used by kidnappers will be demolished. Is this a delightful development or...? Please share your thoughts.

Anglican Archbishop Ignatius Kattey Released By Kidnappers



Reporters has learnt that Anglican bishop Ignatius Kattey, who was kidnapped nine days ago by an armed gang in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, has been released by his abductors. Kattey is the second highest-ranking Anglican prelate in Nigeria. SaharaReporters spoke to Archbishop Kattey’s daughter, Margaret, who confirmed her father’s release. She disclosed that the bishop returned home last night around 8:00 p.m. He was “hale and hearty,” according to his daughter. Another family source declined to say if any ransom was paid to secure the bishop’s release. However, a police source in Rivers State told SaharaReporters that several millions of naira was shelled out to the kidnappers from contributions made by several state governments as well as the office of the Nigerian president.

Police Killed Seven Lagos Politician's Alleged Kidnappers, Arrested Two



The Lagos State Special Anti-robbery Squad has killed seven suspected kidnappers and arrested two others during a cross fire in Agbara area of Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
Police alleged that the suspects were behind the kidnap of Lagos politician Kehinde Bamigbetan, Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
Police said the arrested suspects are 27-year old Ogbonna Emenike and 25-year old Uchenna Nwanyu. The shootout took place at the weekend.
The items recovered from the suspects include four AK 47 Rifles, twenty-Eight AK 47 Magazine fully loaded and a thousand round of live ammunition. Others are army uniforms, a Honda CRV jeep with Reg No.ABC106AE and a Nissan Pathfinder Reg No.AGL730AZ as well as local charms.

Don’t pay ransom to pirates, kidnappers – Naval chief




The  Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Dele Ezeoba, has urged members of the Nigerian Trawlers Owners Association not to pay ransom to pirates and kidnappers, who attack their trawlers.
Paying of ransom to the kidnappers, Ezeoba said, would perpetuate the vice in the country.
According to him, the country has a responsibility to adopt the measures to discourage the crime.
The Navy Chief spoke while receiving the National Executive of the Nigerian Trawlers Owners Association led by its President, Mr. Joseph Overo, in Abuja on Tuesday.

Former deputy governor of Anambra state killed by kidnappers



First Deputy Governor of Anambra State and National Vice President of ACN (South East), Dr. Chudi Nwike, who was kidnapped on March 19, has been killed by his kidnappers.

Dr Nwike's corpse was found on Monday April 8th in the middle of the road leading to Alizomor community near Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, after the family had paid the kidnappers N5m ransom.

The late ACN chieftain served as deputy governor between 1991 and 1993, under former governor, Dr. Chukwu-emeka Ezeife. See ACN press release on Dr Nwike's murder after the break.

CharlyBoy's Cousin Abducted And Killed By Kidnappers





He tweeted this. "The abductors have finally killed my cousin. Emeka, may ur soul rest in peace. I tot u would return, but I waited in vain. Rest in peace bro" 
 Charlyboy confirmed the death of his kidnapped cousin, Emeka Emeniye who was abducted by some unknown gunmen in Imo state, early last week. Emeka, a successful hotelier and business mogul, was forcefully taken away by gun wielding men during one of his visits to his 5-Star hotel in Imo State. Since then, the Oputa family and other extended family members have remained unsettled.

Robbers - Kidnappers abduct 5 Lagos bound passengers along Benin-Sagamu rd



Robbing is not enough since most people don't carry cash anymore due to technology advancement as they prefer to carry ATM card. Robing on highways have changed as well. They are now kidnapping passengers on highways. According to Vanguard, 5 passengers on a Lagos-bound vehicle were kidnapped on Wednesday morning by gunmen on the Lagos-Benin road near Ogbemudia farms. 

The passengers, traveling in a Greener Line space wagon Siena bus travelling from Warri to Lagos  ran into a barricade along the Benin-Ore- Sagamu-Lagos road. The bus driver sighting the barricade, which was a truck, slowed down.

Kidnappers sell boys for N450,000, girls N150,000



ABAKALIKI — UNIDENTIFIED persons, weekend, kidnapped a three-year-old boy, Ejike Emmanuel, at Akaeze in Ivo Local Government Area of the state.
Vanguard gathered that the boy was abducted in front of his parent’s compound at Obulo-Iyioji village in Akaeze by two suspected kidnappers, a man and woman, who disguised as customers to the mother of the victim, Mrs Nnennaya Emmanuel.

Finally Kidnappers freed Lagos School Boy after N5m ransom settlement




Its quite disturbing to hear about the increased reported cases of kidnap across the country, and even more sad that the perpetrators of this heinous crime chose an innocent two-year old boy as their victim.
A two-year old boy was recently returned to his parents by kidnappers after his family paid N5 million ransom. According to PM News,  Emmanuel Alonge was kidnapped by yet to be identified gunmen on Monday at Iju area of Lagos State and was taken to an unknown destination.
The kidnappers had earlier demanded for N150 million, which they later slashed to N100 million and then to N20 million and later to N5 million.

kidnappers of Lagos school boy demands N150m ransom



Kidnappers of two-year old Nigerian  boy, Emmanuel Alonge (pictured above), have demanded  N150 million as ransom before the boy could be released.  Alonge was on his way to school on Monday in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, when he was kidnapped by gunmen and whisked away to an unknown destination. TrendsNigeria learnt that the father of the boy, Olusegun Alonge, who is the proprietor of Barachel group of schools in Ifako-Ijaiye, had been contacted by the kidnappers and given 48 hours ultimatum to provide the money or risk losing his son.
A family source said the kidnappers called the father of the boy on two occasions the same day. The first time was at 4.21 pm while the second was at 11.30 pm to demand for the ransom.

Okonjo Iweala's Kidnappers Caught In A Bank




Last week, 63 of the suspects earlier arrested by the Army were released unconditionally when their culpability could not be established.  A competent source at the SSS told National Mirror yesterday that six of the real suspects had eventually been arrested in Asaba, Delta State, and might be flown to Abuja today.  The source also confirmed that a N40m ransom was actually paid for the release of the 82-year- old retired professor of Sociology.

Kidnappers Called Us ‘Bad Market’–Koreans





The four Koreans and a Nigerian kidnapped in Bayelsa State by eight gunmen said on Saturday that their assailants fed them with noodles, tea and banana while in captivity. The victims, who were released on Friday night after spending five days in the kidnappers’ den located in a mangrove, said the captors set them free after branding them “bad market.”

Updates: Nkiru Sylvanus and Kenneth Okolie released by kidnappers




What a relief! And thanks for all your prayers. Actress Nkiru Sylvanus and ex-Mr Nigeria Kenneth Okolie have been freed by their kidnappers. Nkiru and Kenneth were released less than an hour ago in Owerri. The kidnappers blindfolded them and dropped them off at an unknown location where they were able to call friends to come pick them up. No details on whether they paid a ransom. Great news!

Kidnappers Demand Okonjo-Iweala’s Resignation





Negotiations have begun in earnest with the kidnappers of Prof. Kamene Okonjo, mother of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who was kidnapped on Sunday in Delta State.  THISDAY gathered Tuesday that the kidnappers had contacted the Okonjo family during which they listed conditions for the release of the minister’s mother, chief of which was that the family should part with N200 million.

Kidnappers Float Association In Nsukka





Kidnappers in the university town of Nsukka in Enugu state seem not in a hurry to dump their filthy lucre despite the efforts of the state Police Command to run them out of town. Apparently calling the bluff of law enforcement agents and playing the lords of the town and its environs, the hoodlums have formed an association.
