Rasaq Adams (pictured above) is claiming he was brutalized by the men of the Nigerian police for no reason. Based on their own version of events, on Monday March 31st, he and his friends were somewhere within their neighbourhood at Oredehin Street, off Oshodi Road, Oshodi, Lagos, late through the night gisting when police officers from Akinpelu police station saw them and without provocation, started throwing chairs and bottles at them and attempted to raid them.

Killer houseboy of Ogun retired magistrate: 'I cut her neck with cutlass for sacking me'



David Idah, the houseboy of  retired Chief Magistrate Funmilola Timeyin who killed her at her residence in Laderin Estate in Abeokuta on March 28th says he killed her because she sacked him. 

Idah, in an interview with Punch, said he and his boss had a great relationship when he started dealing with her however they fell out when she began to complain about his attitude. Idah says he wasn't paid his salary and so stole two cellphones, a DVD player, speakers, perfume, wrist watches, three trousers and four shirts owned by her son to sell them, get money and leave.

She discovered he'd stolen these things and invited the authorities who came in and was about to start prosecution of the 21 year old Benue indigine when she (Justice Timeyin) pleaded together to let him off the hook and even wrote a letter of withdrawal to the police. She said she did not need Idah tried but she sacked him and told him not come back to work for her again.....

80-Year-Old American Woman Frozen Alive In Morgue



A 80-year-old American woman was frozen alive in morgue hoping to get from the body bag after having been prematurely declared dead.

Although a lower-court judge had dismissed a lawsuit by Maria de Jesus Arroy's family against a medical facility in May 2012, an appeals court ruled this week the relatives could pursue a new claim after the shocking details have already been discovered.

Nigerians on bed after mob attack in South Africa



Some days ago, specifically Wednesday and Thursday April 2nd and 3rd, Nigerians in Johannesburg and Pretoria were physically attacked by a group of organized gang members and Commercial Taxi drivers in South Africa. These hoodlums destroyed and looted over 25 shops belonging to Nigerians. Though no Nigerian died in the attack, Nigerian residents there say at least ten Nigerians have been hospitalized with a few battling for their lives.

The attack according to the President of the Nigerian Union in South Africa, Ikechukwu Anyene, started last week from Johanessburg where some gang members attacked some Nigerians and looted their shops. They extended the organized attack to Pretoria this week.

US threatens China with Russia-like sanctions over territorial disputes



The US has issued a strong warning to China not to escalate territorial tensions in the Asia-Pacific region, or otherwise it would face sanctions similar to those the US had imposed on Russia over Crimea. While speaking to a meeting of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the US assistant secretary of state for East Asia, Daniel Russel, said that the recent sanctions against Russia imposed by the US and EU should have "a chilling effect on anyone in China who might contemplate the Crimea annexation as a model," Reuters reports.

Prophet in custody over false prophecy



Alphonsus Ezie, a 56year old prophet with the Celestial Church of Christ Igando District, Lagos State has been arrested and remanded in prison by the police for tricking his congregation with a false prophecy, PM news reports.

Prophet Ezie had on a Sunday service prophesied seeing some members of his congregation traveling to Netherland for greener pastures and coming back home successful. He asked all those interested in making the prophecy fulfilled in their lives to meet with his friend, Mr Samuel, a travel agent, to help them with their travel papers. Nigerian Teenager Confesses: "I Sleep With 10 Men Daily"



A 19-year-old Nigerian girl (names withheld) has told a Federal High Court in Lagos how she was lured into prostitution in Burkina Faso.

According to the teenager, she was working as a sales girl in Victoria Island, Lagos before two middle-aged men told her they could help her find a better job abroad.

Police investigations revealed that the two men, Christian Awanebi and Ariwayo Olowede, who pleaded not guilty, allegedly took her to Burkina Faso sometime in 2011.

Malaysia bans Noah film as 'anti-Islamic



Malaysia has joined other Islamic countries in banning the Hollywood biblical epic "Noah" starring Russell Crowe, decrying it as irreligious and saying it violates Islamic law against depicting prophets. A home ministry official Saturday confirmed that Paramount's latest big budget film, which has sparked an outcry among Muslim groups worldwide, will not be screened in predominantly Muslim Malaysia.

The film has already angered some Christian institutions in the United States over Crowe's reportedly unconventional portrayal of Noah, who is regarded as an important figure in both Christianity and Islam, AFP reports.

Japan orders to shoot down any new N Korea ballistic missile launches



Japan has ordered a destroyer in the Sea of Japan to strike any ballistic missiles that may be launched by North Koreain the coming weeks after Pyongyang fired a Rodong medium-range missile over the sea, a government source said on Saturday.

According to the Reuters report citing an unidentified government source, Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera issued the order on Thursday, but did not make it public in order to avoid putting a chill on renewed talks between Tokyo and Pyongyang, the first in more than a year, local media reported earlier.
