US Ebola Survivor Readmitted to Hospital & Put in Isolation



The third US patient, Dr. Rick Sacra, to be treated for Ebola on American soil has been isolated again in hospital after suffering a persistent cough and fever.


DailyMail reports that Dr Rick Sacra, 51, who contracted the deadly virus while working in Liberia was readmitted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, two weeks after he was cleared. He was treated at the University of Nebraska Medical Center for the infection last month and was released.

Soldiers Bombard Ondo Hospital, Attack Workers



Soldiers numbering about 20 allegedly stormed the General Hospital Ore, in Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo state on Wednesday afternoon, attacking the staff.

According to report, the soldiers allegedly invaded the hospital because the management rejected the corpse of one of their colleagues who lost his life at a peace keeping mission in one of the Northern states. The corpse was brought on Tuesday night with the intention of depositing it in the hospital's morgue but the hospital management said the mortuary was already congested and there was no more space to keep the corpse.

The maradona: France's Hollande visits First Lady Trierweiler in hospital.



French President Francois Hollande has paid his first visit to his official partner Valerie Trierweiler since she was hospitalised in the wake of revelations he was having an affair, his office said.

Hollande visited Trierweiler at a Paris hospital on Thursday evening, six days after she was admitted, a spokesman said.

Feyi Agagu, Associated Airlines Plane Crash Survivor, out of London Hospital



Word out right now has it that Feyi, son of the late former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Agagu, was yesterday discharged from the Orthopaedic Ward of Princess Grace Hospital, Nottingham Place, London a couple of weeks after his admission in to the hospital.
 
Africa Examiner reports that Feyi was discharged after he was deemed fit and considered out of danger.
Feyi and Akin, his in-law were two of the survivors of the October 3, 2013 Lagos air crash.

Ex-Flying Eagles Midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim Collapses On Field, Stretchered Off To Hospital



Former Flying Eagles midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim collapsed on the field and needed to be rushed to the hospital. KickOff reports that the Kilmarnock FC midfielder collapsed after a collision with Ross County's Ivan Sproule in the 35th minute, and was subsequently stretchered off the pitch and rushed to a nearby hospital.

Boko Haram Leader, Shekau On Hospital Bed After He Was Shot

Heart-breaking history of Adebola Omowale who died after being rejected medical treatment in a hospital for stab wounds




Adebola Omowale,the 40-year-old man which was allegedly stabbed to death, last weekend, by some military officers in a viewing centre around Lekki beach area in Lagos state might have survived if he had received urgent medical attention after the incident.  In reality, it had been revealed that the injured man walked to a nearby hospital, clutching his intestines in his hands and then be told by nurses that he wouldn't be treated unless he produced a police report.

 Crime Alert learnt that after several pleas for him to receive, at least, first aid treatment pending when sympathizers who stumbled on a healthcare facility with him provides the report, the badly injured man reclined to fate and laid on a pavement helplessly, waiting for succour.

Photos: Associated Airline hostesses Queeneth & Toyin on bed in hospital



 Two crew members of Associated Airline survived the plane crash that happened on Thursday morning. Toyin Samson (pictured above) and Queeneth Owolabi (pictured following the cut) were siting at the back of the plane when it went down. They are currently being treated for third degree burns at the Ikeja General Hospital. Queeneth is in a worse shape than Toyin who are able to talk and communicate with visitors. Taraba assembly to Suntai: Go back to US hospital



Barely 24 hours after Governor Danbaba Suntai, addresed the people of Taraba State through a recorded video,  the state House of Assembly on Thursday  advised him to return to the hospital  in the United States where he was on admission for further treatment.

Barely 24 hours after Governor Danbaba Suntai, addresed the people of Taraba State through a recorded video,  the state House of Assembly on Thursday  advised him to return to the hospital  in the United States where he was on admission for further treatment.
The assembly, in a statement by its Speaker, Haruna  Tsokwa, and 15 other  members, also reaffirmed Alhaji Garba Umar as the acting governor of the state.

The lawmakers   claimed  that  before Wednesday, all their  efforts  to meet with the recuperating governor, who arrived in Jalingo on Sunday from the  US,  were rebuffed by people close to him.
They  pointed out  that from the manner the governor spoke when they finally  met with him on Wednesday,  they  doubted  that he  authored the letter in which he informed them of his return and desire to resume work.

Mrs. Ifeanyi Chima was one of Lagos delegates that attended a peace rally organised for women by the First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, in Abuja on August 15, 2013.
The vehicle, which Chima and five other women were travelling in, had an accident at Gwagwalada Road, near Abuja,  when they  were going back to Lagos  the following day.

Bizarre: Hospital In Zimbabwe Charges Mothers $5 Every Time They Scream During Childbirth




Giving birth is regarded as one of the most painful human experiences a woman will ever encounter. To deal with the pain, some women opt out for drugs, while others channel the pain by screaming or grabbing a loved one’s hand. But if you’re in a Zimbabwe hospital and you yell out during childbirth, your stay at the hospital could cost you extra.

At a hospital in Zimbabwe, the Global Corruption Barometer, a group that campaigns against corruption, released its annual report, revealing that a Zimbabwe hospital exploits poor new mothers by charging them $5 every time they scream. The charge is said to be for ‘causing false alarm’, according to the report.
