400 level Student Arrested With Cocaine At Enugu International Airport (Photos)




Barely few weeks after the jubilation that greeted the commencement of international flights at the newly upgraded Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu; the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made its first arrest and cocaine seizure. The suspect, Chizoba Anselem Nwabuwa 32 year-old 400 Levels Fine and Applied Arts student was apprehended during the inward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian flight from Brazil enroute Addis-Ababa. He was found to have ingested liquid cocaine packed inside male condoms.

This is another Ọmọ Oódua exclusive you don't get to see else where  . ...  The politics in Rivers state is getting dirtier A police detachment in Port Harcourt has prevented the convoy of the Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi from using one of the two entrances to the government house earlier today.
The governor's convoy was stopped as it made it way to through the Fortes road entrance by four truck loads of policemen led by several senior officers.

FG denies ordering customized gold iPhones; issues statement



The Federal Government has reacted to the news that they ordered 53 gold gold-plated iPhone 5S for N682million. The report went viral after the CEO of Gold and Co., UK, Amjad Ali, told UK newspaper, The Independent, that our government ordered these phones from his firm as part of the memorabilia for the nation’s 53rd Independence anniversary on October 1, 2013. Jonathan's government has denied this and issued a statement. Find it below...
We consider the reports in a section of the media claiming that the Nigerian government had ordered customized gold iPhones from a Dubai-based company to mark the country’s 53rdindependence anniversary in October not only false and misleading, but utterly mischievous.

#ASUUStrike President Of National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS) Dropped



As a result of his poor handling of the ongoing ASUU strike, the Nigerian Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has impeached its current president Yinka Gbadebo and has replaced him with Jubril Ahmad, the vice-president.
In a statement obtained by Sahara Reporters, NANS Senate President Emaluyi Sunday Michael said Gbadebo was impeached at a meeting of stakeholders on September 7 under Section 49(1) of the constitution. That provision states: “The president can be impeached on the grounds of incompetence or as therefore by his attitude or action which can be classified/regarded as misconduct”.

Amaechi Receives Jonathan In Port Harcourt Nigeria



Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi today received President Goodluck Jonathan at the Port Harcourt Airport in Rivers State, southsouth Nigeria. Jonathan was on his way to Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, to attend a church programme. The President was received on arrival at the airport by Amaechi who has been embroiled in a running battle with Nyesome Wike, a points-man for Jonathan.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo recently said Mrs Waziri, the former EFCC boss was a disaster to Nigeria's effort against corruption. He also questioned her qualification and said she was appointed after former Delta State Governor, Jame Ibori recommended her. You all know where Ibori is today, so you should know what i mean, Obasanjo added. Proving his point further, he said; “Go and look at the condition or the qualification; go and look at the type of interaction that anybody holding that job will have with a similar organisation elsewhere; did Waziri have that type. What connection did she have with FBI, what relationship did she have with Metropolitan Police in London. It’s not a picnic,” Obasanjo said.

Lawyer and activist Mike Ozekhome released by Kidnappers



Almost three weeks after he was kidnapped, human rights lawyer & activist Mike Ozekhome (SAN) has reportedly been freed. He was freed at about 8am this morning by his kidnappers in Benin. Mr Ozekhome is said to be in the office of the State Security Service in Benin as of this morning.

Husband, Wife And Their 3-Month-Old Baby Found Dead In Their Home (PHOTO)



A middle aged man, Seyi Adewale, his wife, Felicia and their three-month-old daughter, Deborah, were on Tuesday, found dead in their room with the corpses already decomposing.
According to report, they just moved into their new house in Gbeganu area in Minna, Niger State last Saturday and they died that same night.

It was gathered that they switched on their generating at night, close to the room while the fume emitting from the set consumed them overnight and they never woke up to see the next day.

The shipments began streaming into the country over the past two weeks, along with separate deliveries by the State Department of vehicles and other gear — a flow of material that marks a major escalation of the US role in Syria’s civil war.

Pres. Jonathan appoints interm ministers to replace the nine sacked



President Jonathan didn't particularly give reasonsfor the mass sack that happened today but there are speculations in some quarters that it was politically motivated. Shhhhh, you didn't read this here but I heard that the nine ministers sacked today were nominated by the Governors that deflected to the new PDP aka Atiku's PDP. I guess the old PDP wan show say power pass power. Lol. Nigerian politicians. And every year on his birthday she gives him a change of clothes – until four years ago when decay finally made the feat impossible. Joni, whose cause of death remains unknown, is finally beginning to decompose since illness prevented Mrs Kvaratskhelia from giving him the daily care he needs.

Just In: President Jonathan sacks Nine Ministers



President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday shocked members of the Federal Executive Council as he sacked nine members of the council.
The sacked ministers did not have any inkling of their impending sack as some of them attended the weekly federal executive council meeting Wednesday.today)
President Jonathan reportedly thanked the sacked ministers for their services to the nation and wished them well in their future endeavours.

Woman Sentenced to 14 Years for Stealing N3.15 Million in Abuja




A 22-year-old cashier, Mariam Salifu was sentenced to 14 years in prison for stealing N3.15 million belonging to her employers. The decision has been announced by an Abuja Magistrate Court, on September 9, 2013, Monday.

Pastor In deep mess As Boy Dies During Spiritual Bath



A 25-year-old pastor, Samson Bamgbose, was, yesterday, arraigned before an Abeokuta Chief Magistrate Court, Isabo, Ogun State for allegedly causing the death of a church member, who drowned during a spiritual bath.

Bamgbose, a pastor at the Celestial Church of Christ, Alaapa, is facing a one-count charge of negligence.

Jonathan, 2015 and threats by fire-spitting militants



At the presidential level, Goodluck Jonathan has taken the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office on three occasions — first as the vice-president, as the acting president and again as the substantive president.  These pledges were taken, not as a sectional or ethnic leader, but as a national leader. Four of the seven aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party governors meet Jonathan



Four ‘rebel’ governors meet Jonathan on Tuesday met with President Goodluck Jonathan, in Abuja to protest ‘the belligerence’ of the party’s National Chairman, Dr.  Bamanga Tukur.
Before the meeting, Jonathan had held  two separate closed doors meetings  with two elders of the PDP and three governors  sympathetic to the  Tukur-led  faction over the crisis rocking the party.

Alleged fraudster Fred Ajidua granted bail in a Lagos high court



A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, today Tuesday September 10th, granted bail to alleged fraudster, Fred Ajudua. Mr Ajidua's lawyer pleaded with the court to grant him bail because he is living on one kidney. The judge set his bail at N50 million with two sureties in like sum.
Fred Ajidua is being accused by EFCC of defrauding two Dutch businessmen of $1.69 million (N270 million).
