NYSC redeploys corps members from Borno, Kano, Yobe, others



The National Youth Service Corps on Thursday announced the redeployment of corps members from seven northern states.

The affected states are Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano and Yobe states.

A statement on Thursday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations in NYSC, Mrs. Bose Aderibigbe, said the decision followed the high rate of insecurity in some parts of the North.

The corps members are part of the  2014 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course  scheduled to commence next week Tuesday August 5, 2014.

The NYSC said due to logistic reasons, the orientation course will be conducted in two streams for different states.

Between 20 & 50 Boko Haram Suspects Nabbed In Enugu





Between 20 and 50 suspected Boko Haram members were apprehended at Obollo Afor, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, on June 25, 2014, Wednesday.

A group of suspected terrorists were travelling in a commercial luxury bus of a popular private commercial company, when it was stopped by security operatives.

According to Punch, a team of the National Task Force on Small Arms was responsible for stopping the bus, plate number AKD816XG. The arrest of 20 suspects was confirmed by its reporter.

Trouble As Fulani Herdsmen Invade the people of Ezeagu LGA In Enugu With AK 47





The people of Enugu in over forty communities in Ezeagu LGA of the state are currently panicking, following the invasion of their towns by Fulani herdsmen allegedly armed with sophisticated AK 47 rifles.

The herdsmen, who invaded the area with their cattles two weeks ago, had allegedly destroyed crops in farms and were reported to have rapéd some women in the village who were working in their farmland...

Students Burn-down Asa Block At IMT In Enugu To Avoid Malpractice Punishment



Based on report, at the Institute of Management & Technology, IMT, Enugu, the Asa block of the institute was set ablaze last two nights at about 7pm.  Allegedly by some final year students of the college who had been booked for exam malpractice. The ultimate students who feared they would be finding significant abuse for his or her behave and could not consider any possible solution, chose to burn down the making where  answer scripts were stuffed, in order to get rid of the evidence against them.

Enugu state First Lady denies being Imprisoned by Gov Chime




Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State on Tuesday night denied subjecting his wife, Mrs. Clara Chime, to accommodate arrest and has vowed to protect her from being exposed to ridicule. Chime made this denial in the current presence of some journalists, his wife and her elder brother, Mr. Tony Igwe.

Clara Chime, First Lady of Enugu State, Begs Human Rights Groups To Release Her



First Lady of Enugu State, Clara Chime says her husband, Govr Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to rescue her.

According to SaharaReporters, in a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years.

TRAGIC: Two Girls Die While Swimming In Enugu River



Two girls lost their lives while swimming in the Asata River along Bisalla Road in Enugu metropolis, Enugu State, on Saturday evening.

While the corpse of one of the victims, Chidera Nwekwe, was recovered hours after the incident, the body of the other victim had not been located as of Sunday afternoon. Her identity remained a mystery.

400 level Student Arrested With Cocaine At Enugu International Airport (Photos)




Barely few weeks after the jubilation that greeted the commencement of international flights at the newly upgraded Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu; the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made its first arrest and cocaine seizure. The suspect, Chizoba Anselem Nwabuwa 32 year-old 400 Levels Fine and Applied Arts student was apprehended during the inward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian flight from Brazil enroute Addis-Ababa. He was found to have ingested liquid cocaine packed inside male condoms.

JJ! Man Stabs Co-Tenant To Death Over Electricity Bill In Enugu



A tenant discovered as Uzodinma Eneh has been caught by the Enugu State Authorities Order for allegedly stabbing his co-tenant, Prince Uzor, to demise at their Aguabor residence in Trans Ekulu area of Enugu. Uzor was allegedly stabbed with a knife by the suspect subsequent a warm discussion that ensued between them around discussing of energy bill sustained by the tenants. Sympathizers promptly rushed the victim to the Parklane Consultant Hospital, but he died shortly after returning the hospital. Confirming the incident, state Authorities Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, claimed the suspect had been supporting the police inside their investigation.

Son machetes father to death in Enugu




A 65-year-old man, Mr. Felix Atta, a native of  Umuonu Umuida community, Enugu Ezike in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State has allegedly been killed by his son.

The alleged murderer identified as one Ejiofor Atta, according to the police, used a machete to slaughter his father for reasons yet to be known.
He was said to have gone into hiding after committing the crime and security men and family members have commenced manhunt for him.


According to report, Ejiofor, about six years ago murdered his mother.
Vanguard gathered that the unfortunate incident took place at about 2 p.m on May 18 at Umuonu Umuida where the son of the deceased allegedly macheted his father who was believed to be about 65 years old to a state of unconsciousness.

JUJU: PDP officials accused of oath taking in Enugu





Crisis is now brewing in Igboeze North Local Government Council of Enugu State over an alleged oath taking by some Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, officials in the local government.
Twenty councillors of the local government have however demanded that those involved be tried and punished. It was gathered that the party leadership in the state has directed the Enugu North Senatorial district office of the party headed by Chief Mike Ejinma, to probe the allegation now rocking the council area.
Tension continues to mount as the councillors passed a resolution condemning the development, while affirming their confidence in the chairman of the council, Mr. Bona Onu who is being vilified along side the council party chairman, Mr. Luke Uroko. Uroko, is being accused of highhandedness and running the party as a personal fief,even as he also alleging that 18 electoral ward chairmen and some ward officials were involved in oath-taking.

Chime's Cancer Did Not Go Away: Swelling On The Cheek Of Enugu Governor




President Goodluck Jonathan arrived to commission a church in Enugu state today.
The church reportedly built by the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu had ailing governor, Sullivan Chime welcoming Mr. Jonathan at the airport.
An important photo taken of Mr. Chime's face swollen on the right cheek tells that the governor's cancer might be making an aggressive comeback.

EFCC Arrests 5 Internet Fraudsters in Enugu



The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it has arrested five suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu, Enugu State.

According to a statement released by the Acting Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, the suspects were picked up from their hide out at No. 26 and 42, Chimaobi Uba Street, GRA, Enugu following an intelligence report.
The statement reads, “The suspects, Uche Nwakor, 27; Ejikeme Oluchukwu, 30; Ifeanyi Ejikeme, 28; Nnamani Ikechukwu,30 and Ibe Kodili are alleged to be serial scammers who have defrauded several victims.

Enugu State Governor's Son Nnamdi Chime Set To Wed (Photos)



Enugu State governor Sullivan Chime's son, Nnamdi, is getting ready to quit bachelorhood.  He will marry his heartthrob Nneoma Atueyi next month, April 2013.
 Their traditional wedding will hold on Friday April 12th at the bride's hometown of Nnewi, in Anambra State while their white wedding will hold on Saturday April 13th in Enugu.
They do look like such a cute couple.

Enugu state governor Sullivan Chime flown abroad again for medical treatment



There are reports making the rounds that two weeks after Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime returned to Nigeria after spending four months in a UK hospital, that he has been flown abroad again for medical attention. No word yet on when he traveled or the country he traveled to...
