2015: Jonathan Not Eligible To Contest – PDP, APC Members
Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) have approached a federal high court sitting in Abuja to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the attorney general of the federation (AGF) from allowing President Goodluck Jonathan to participate in the 2015 presidential election.
In a suit filed by four Senior Advocates of Nigeria, the plaintiffs argued that by the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the president, having contested the presidential election twice, won and took the oath of office and allegiance twice in respect of that office can no longer present himself for election to that office the third time.

2015: PDP considers automatic ticket for Jonathan
The thinking within the top echelon of the party is that the party would emulate the United States democracy where the right of first refusal is usually given to the President.
Already, some members of the National Working Committee of the party were said to have favoured the arrangement, which would see Jonathan emerge as the sole candidate of the party.

Ribadu Unworthy Of PDP - Edwin Clark
Edwin ClarkCredit -Today Nigeria |
Clark said that bringing Ribadu into the PDP would dent the image of the party and also affect its fortune in Adamawa State, where he said Ribadu has no value, politically.
Fremost Ijaw leader and political father of President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Edwin Clark, has described Nuhu Ribadu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) new decampee, as not being trustworthy.
Reading an open letter addressed to the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu'azu, this morning, he said the PDP would be making the biggest mistake of its life if it granted a waiver to the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to enable him contest the Adamawa State governorship primaries next week.

I’m not in PDP on anyone’s errand – Ribadu
Today is a happy day for me. I am awed and inspired even further by the cheerful crowd that received me at the airport and which has come with me to this place. Whatever way I turn, I feel a sense of boundless happiness at coming home, more so now with a mission to be accomplished; a task dear to the hearts of all the people of Adamawa State. This is therefore not an ordinary day for me, and as indeed it is not for the rest of the patriotic citizens of this State – we are here on the march of history.

PDP, Fayose get order to inspect electoral materials
The Ekiti Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal on Wednesday granted an order allowing the Peoples Democratic Party and the Governor-elect, Mr Ayodele Fayose, to inspect all materials used in the June 21 governorship election in the state.
The three-man panel, chaired by Justice Muhammad Sirajo, granted the order following an exparte application by their counsel, Dolapo Kolade, which was brought pursuant to Section 151 of the Electoral Act 2010, as amended
The panel had on July 23 granted similar relief to the All Progressives Congress which is before the tribunal challenging the victory of Fayose in the governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Fayose winner of the election ahead of the incumbent governor and candidate of the APC, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
The PDP also sought an order allowing other interested party to enjoy same privilege, and an order compelling security agencies to be present at the point of inspection.

I never had problems with PDP but with Saraki –Belgore
Mr. Dele Belgore (SAN), Action Congress of Nigeria’s governorship candidate in Kwara State during the 2011 election explains his latest controversial defection to the Peoples Democratic Party in this interview withSUCCESS NWOGU
With the Freedom Rally recently held in Ilorin, it seems you have now agreed that the PDP is a party that puts people in bondage since the party has been in the power for some years now in Kwara State?
No. We have said repeatedly that our issue lies with the way the government of the state was then being run. It is the people at the helm of affairs and their methods that we were complaining about. Those methods have not changed since they joined the APC. That tells you that the issue in Kwara is about the people at the helm of affairs and not necessarily the party.
