Conference won’t stop Nigeria’s break-up – Retired Bishop ( What do you think?)



Retired Bishop of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Lagos-West Diocese, Rt. Rev. Peter Adebiyi, has faulted those who do not want the proposed national conference to lead to Nigeria’s break-up.
He said there are several indications that the nationalities in the country are living together under duress. He said this was evident in the high level of religious intolerance being experienced, which was reflected in politics.

GEJ Got a Message For Those Who think Nigeria will break by 2015



President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday said that Nigeria would disappoint all those who predicted that the country would break up in 2015 by continuing to remain one indivisible entity.


Nigeria won’t break up in 2015 –Jonathan



“For those who are predicting that this country will separate in 2015 based on the fault lines as of the time of amalgamation, they will know that this prediction will not be of any consequence. Nigeria will continue to remain one indivisible entity,” the President said.

Jonathan said this while receiving members of the Muslim community in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja who paid him Sallah homage at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as part of the activities marking this year’s Eid-el-Fitri.

How possible is Nigeria’s break-up in 2015?



The current political, ethnic and religious tensions in the country, accentuated by the tussle for the 2015 Presidency, have begun to make many people raise the alarm that the often misquoted and misrepresented personal comments of the participants at the United States’ National Intelligence Council conference of the possibility of a break-up of Nigeria in 2015, if certain things occurred, is about to come to fruition.

Prison Break: Boko Haram Kills 55, Frees 105 In Borno




uspected members of the radical Islamist sect Boko Haram raided the northeastern town of Bama on Tuesday, leaving 55 people dead, the military said.

Boko Haram gunmen killed 22 police officers, 14 prison officials, two soldiers and four civilians, while 13 of the group’s own members died the spokesman for the military Joint Task Force (JTF), Sagir Musa said.

Gunmen freed 105 prison members during the raid, which began at around 5am and lasted almost five hours, Mr Musa said.

Fracas In Ogun Assembly as Lawmakers Break Into Pandemonium



There was pandemonium in the hallow chamber of the Ogun State House of Assembly yesterday following attempts by the Speaker, Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunbi, to suspend four members for allegedly infringing on the House rules.
The uproar witnessed on the floor of the House, which resulted in the breaking of the mace, was as a result of the crisis rocking the Assembly over the composition of members of the tenders’ board.
At the plenary yesterday, the Speaker, recalled an alleged unruly behaviour of four lawmakers during the previous sitting.
Adekunbi noted that four members- Hon. Job Akintan (Egbado North II); Hon. Remmy Hazzan (Odogbolu); Hon. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo (Ifo II); and Hon. John Obafemi (Remo North); all walked out on all other members without taking a bow at the previous sitting.

Robbers Break Into KFC Thinking It’s A Jewelry Store




Two men attempted to break into a jewelry store but found themselves inside a KFC restaurant instead in Australia. Peter Welsh, 32, and Dwayne Doolan, 31, were in court this week to face robbery charges after making several unsuccessful attempts to break into Wrights Jewellers in Beaudesert, near Brisbane, but found themselves instead inside a Kentucky Fried Chicken, KFC franchise.

Prison Break Leads To 22 Deaths




A prison break in Mexico left 22 dead, after a shootout erupted between inmates and prison guards.The 22 dead in the prison break included nine guards and 13 inmates, according to police in the state of Durango in Mexico. The attempted escape happened Tuesday night, at a prison near Gomez Palacio, near some of the areas hit hardest by the ongoing drug violence south of the border.The 22 dead in the prison break was a higher number than original estimates. This is one of several high-profile prison breaks in Mexico in the last year, including an incident in which 140 prisoners walked out of the front door of a jail in Coahuila, near the US border.
