 A man born with physical disabilities so severe his head is Upside-down has defied the odds to become an inspirational public speaker.

Claudio Vieira de Oliveira, 37, was born with his neck folded back on itself, as well as badly deformed legs and almost no use of his arms and hands. Doctors told his mother to stop feeding him as a newborn as they believed he had no chance of survival. But Claudio from Monte Santo, Brazil, has overcome his extreme disadvantages to graduate as an accountant and become a public speaker.

President Jonathan has appointed a new Head of Service of the federation. He is Dr Danladi Irmiya Kifasi. Until his appointment, Dr Kifasi was a permanent secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum resources. He succeeds Mallam Bukar Goni who retired recently.

The Kwara state Police command yesterday July 23rd paraded two men who they said are involved in trading of human parts. 

The men whose names were given as Amos Kareem and Abubakar Ladan were arrested with human head, leg and hand in Tabira village, Okuta in Baruten LGA of the state, according to a report by Vanguard.

Head of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN), Viktor Ivanov, said Friday that many participants of the Maidan were "loaded".

"I have no information that the US brought drugs, but there is information that among the participants of the Maidan there was a huge number of drug addicts, that is, people who were in a completely abnormal, psychoactive condition," Ivanov said to journalists on Friday.

According to him, not only the Russian service, but also the Ukrainian colleagues possess this information.

A source in the Ukrainian parliament has told the Russian Interfax news agency that CIA's Director John Brennan has recently visited Ukraine's capital Kiev and had several meetings with representatives of Ukraine's power-wielding agencies.

The person who said this to Interfax in a phone talk added that John Brennan came to Ukraine not under his real name.

An innocent passerby, Christopher Udi met his untimely death after he was hacked to death by a man quarreling with his younger brother over a parcel of land.

The assailant, Maduka Samuel Ogbu, 38, had attempted to strike his brother, Peter Ogbu with a machete during a quarrel on their farm at Mgbede Akaeze in Ivo  Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, but he was able to escape  after being dealt a blow in the back.
While Maduka who was still very furious saw Udi passing by thought he was a friend to his younger brother, instantly dealt him a fatal blow, which severed the head of the innocent man.

President Goodluck Jonathan has handed  the share certificates and licenses to 14 new investors of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN successor companies with an assurance that things are certain to get better in the energy sector. Jonathan described the process of the privatization programme as probably the most transparent in the annals of privatization in the country.

Meanwhile PHCN staff aren't happy about this improvement because their salaries are yet to be paid. They protested today in Government offices in Abuja and Lagos, and also warned the new investors to stay away from power installations for the present time until their demands are met. The shout of alleluia is resounding in the home of Mr. Alex Anosike, an engineer, who miraculously cheated death after gunmen shot him six times – five shots in the head and one on the shoulder.  But for divine providence, Anosike’s family, pastor and members of his church would today be in deep grief. Rather than mourning over his death, they are praising God and celebrating his survival.

Anosike’s close shave began on July 21 shortly after service at the pentecostal church where he is a member, when some other members reported to the pastor that they had seen two strange young men in one of the uncompleted buildings within the compound of the church located in Naze Extension in Owerri North Local Government Area, Imo State.

A trainer at an animal farm in Thailand has been bitten on the head by a crocodile during a show. Shocking video has captured the moment a trainer at a crocodile farm in Thailand was bitten on the head by one of the giant reptiles. Pravit Suebmee, 27, was performing for a group of tourists when he put his head in a crocodile's mouth on Sunday morning. The beast quickly clamped his jaws on Mr Pravit's head, leaving bite wounds on his face and neck. Despite the attack Mr Pravit was not seriously injured. "This is the first time this has happened at our crocodile farm," owner Uthen Youngprapakorn said. "I've regularly warned the performers to be careful at all times." Mr Uthen said the crocodile was probably startled when Mr Pravit slipped, causing it to snap its jaws shut. The video shows the crocodile thrash Mr Pravit back and forth for a moment before another handler pulls it by the tail, allowing the trainer to be released.

Former Head of State, General (Dr.) Yakubu Gowon (rtd), has revealed that when it became inevitable that he would become the Head of State of Nigeria, after the 1966 counter- coup, the first thing he did was to send everybody around him away, lock himself up and go on his knees to pray fervently for God’s divine grace to rule.

The ex-head of state and convener of Pray Nigeria Group and patron of Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN), made the disclosure in a brief remark on the topic, “Individual Accountability in Service,” adopted for the 9th annual luncheon of the special members forum of the BSN, at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, last week.
