15 year old Argentinian Julia Alvarez was left disfigured after two jealous girls slashed her face with knives because she was 'too pretty'. The two girls, who are sisters, have since been arrested. Julia later told police the girls said they wanted to make her look like horror movie character, Chucky.

Julia said she was walking home in the town of Juan Domingo Peron, in the northern Argentinian province of Formosa, when the girls aged 18 and 16 attacked her without any provocation.

"Everyone says you are pretty. You won't look pretty when we have finished with you. People will call you Chucky." - Julia claims this is what the girls told her before slashing her face...

"The story is about a couple who attends a church around the IPO axis in Lagos. The name of the Church is (name withheld) opposite the MTN mast in Baruwa around Ipaja area of Lagos State. The Pastor whose name is (name withheld) dedicated a baby on sunday 1st June, 2014 and the baby (pictured above) died right there in the church.

 It was an unusual thing to have seen a pastor dedicating a baby without carrying the baby on his hand. What the Pastor did was to sprinkle oil and he prayed without even touching the baby. When someone who was invited by the couple, Godwin and Amaka Mark asked them why the pastor wasn't carrying the baby, they stated that it was a norm in that church for babies to be dedicated in that manner. Soon after the benediction, the Pastor disappeared from the church and when the parents of the dead baby realized that their child was no more breathing, they called the pastor on his mobile phone. An 18-year-old girl Rachel Canning is suing her parents for support claiming she was abandoned by them after she turned 18. She also claimed her parents were behind her bulimia and that her father showed her 'inappropriate affection', UK Daily Mail reports

Rachel Canning (left) turned up to Morris County Court, New Jersey, yesterday dressed in her school uniform and pearls for the first hearing in her sensational case against her parents (right) who she claimed 'abandoned' her and owe her money. But her hopes were dampened when Judge Peter Bogaard read an expletive-laden and vicious answerphone message left by Rachel, from Lincoln Park, New Jersey, to her mother, Elizabeth, and said: 'Have you ever in your experience seen such gross disrespect for a parent? I don't see it in my house.'

The yoruba movie industry is bereaved yet again as one of its actresses, Falilat Okerede Oketayo has reportedly passed away.
This is coming soon after they lost two other people. First it was the death of a 32-year-old Jane Atayero-Oluseye, followed closely by that of veteran actor, Pa Ola Ogungbe and now this one.
Falilat who is a person in the Association of Theatre Arts Practitioner of Nigeria, ANTP, in Ogun State reportedly died on Tuesday at her residence in Sagamu, Ogun State.
According to report, she died following a brief illness. She's survived by two children, an aged father and siblings. She was described by ANTP in Ogun State as a versatile, energetic and confident actress.

A 10-year-old Chinese boy jumped 30 floors to his death after failing to write a self-criticism letter demanded by his teacher. The fifth-grade primary school student had been ordered to write a 1,000-character apology by his teacher for talking in class but refused.

The educator allegedly told him to jump out of a building after he failed to accomplish the task, a written report quoted relatives and the neighbour as saying.

She woke up after the operation to find that she once more had a chin, eyelids and an ear. Nollywood actor, Ray Daniels Okeugo died on October 25, 2013, Friday, after having a brief illness. It has been reported by 24/7 Nigeria News Update. The type of the sickness that took the actor away wasn't made known to us as at press time.

Ray Daniels Okeugo starred a number of soap operas and home videos before taking into photography.
Late Okeugo was a founding member of the Invisible Borders Trans-African Photographers and was strongly involved  in the organisation's activities.

18-Year Old Girl Commits Suicide After Gang R*ape In Amarata, Yenoga Bayelsa

The Nigerian police in Bayelsa has confirmed that an 18-year-old girl committed suicide after a gang rape by three unidentified men. The Spokesman of the state Police Command, Mr Alex Akhigbe, told newsmen in Yenagoa that the girl killed herself in Amarata, Yenagoa, Local Government Area of Bayelsa, southern Nigeria.

“I believe the deceased decided to hang herself due to the attendant shame and stigmatisation she experienced after the rape incident,” Akhigbe said. He said that the command had launched investigation into the alleged rape charges filed by the deceased family.

The woman under consideration is identified as Asampete Fatima Usman, a graduate of the University of Maiduguri who lives and works in Abuja. Fatima hails from Hong city in Adamawa state. According to sources, depressed Fatima sent an apparent suicide letter to several friends on Facebook on the 1st of October 2013.  In the suicide note, Fatima informs friends of her intention of killing herself but her friends thought she was joking.
