Waziri fires Back At OBJ ... Respect Your Age Or Else I Will Open Up On You

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo recently said Mrs Waziri, the former EFCC boss was a disaster to Nigeria's effort against corruption. He also questioned her qualification and said she was appointed after former Delta State Governor, Jame Ibori recommended her. You all know where Ibori is today, so you should know what i mean, Obasanjo added. Proving his point further, he said; “Go and look at the condition or the qualification; go and look at the type of interaction that anybody holding that job will have with a similar organisation elsewhere; did Waziri have that type. What connection did she have with FBI, what relationship did she have with Metropolitan Police in London. It’s not a picnic,” Obasanjo said.

Dele Momodu's Advice / Open Letter To Governor Akpabio

Your Excellency, I find it necessary to write this open letter to you in order to let you know what I had always wanted to tell you as an admirer and keen watcher of your activities and commendable performance in the oil-rich State of Akwa Ibom.

Let me confess that I was one of those who felt you were a media creation, all hype and gas, without any solid substance. Your hyperactive nature makes it natural for people to conclude that you are a noise-maker, attention-seeker and publicity-grabber.

Nigeria: FG Resuscitates Open Heart Surgery

A decade after the federal government suspended the operations of open heart surgeries in the country, the open heart surgery unit at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu, has been resuscitated to avail Nigerians the opportunity of getting the service at a subsidised rate of N500,000.
The unit was suspended a decade ago following the movement of the UNTH from the old site within the Enugu metropolis to its permanent site at Ituku-Ozala.
Briefing journalists at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting yesterday, the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, said his Ministry of Health counterpart, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, briefed the council on the issue, indicating that with the development, Nigerians now have the chance to have the operation within the country without having to travel abroad.
Just last month, Chukwu inaugurated the heart surgery unit at the UNTH, noting that it was in line with the transformation programme of the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration.
According to him, the resuscitation became necessary in order to forestall the current trend whereby "Nigerians are flown abroad for medical missions which is not the best for us."

Aurora Theater Shooting Court Documents Blows Inside Job Conspiracy Wide Open

Newly released court documents in the Aurora, CO theater “Batman massacre” case reveals startling inside accusations about who may actually be behind the shootings that left at least 70 people either dead or injured in the early morning hours of July 20th.

Friday’s report by the online version of Denver’s Westword Magazine details shocking claims made by, what appears to be, a new victim in a case that has throttled a community still in mourning over the tragic events. According to the court documents an individual, whose name has been officially redacted from the documents, came forward to file a “Motion to Intervene” for the right to be reasonably heard under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act (a)(4), for the purposes of presenting newly discovered evidence to the court.

Nigeria: Local Prisons - Inmates Open Up On Travails, Triumphs

For long, so much has been said about the deplorable state of prisons in Nigeria, particularly the adverse health implications on inmates due to congestion. And successive governments have been al ccused of negligence instead of proffering lasting solution to this problem.
More worrisome is the fact that inmates get back into society hardened after serving their sentences, thereby frustrating security operatives'efforts to curb criminal acts in the society.
Irked by the development, the Nigerian Prison Service was renamed Nigerian Prisons and Correctional Service sequel to the Senate passage of a Bill for an Act to repeal the Prisons Act Cap, P29 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Open Letter to President Jonathan

I hope this letter reaches you in the best position of health and wellbeing, and I do hope you will find the time to go through the content of this letter. I feel duty bound as an ordinary citizen of Nigeria to draw your attention to some of the critical decisions that your government has taken. These decisions are very critical and could determine the stability of our country.

I am aware that you have advisors who have the responsibility to guide you in taking decisions, because as the leader of the country you will have to rely on the expertise of these advisors before you take a final position on issues. But I am also aware that a lot of government appointees are more interested in advancing their personal interest rather than guiding the president in the right direction.
