PDP crisis Deepens: GEJ will only accept reasonable terms – Presidency



The Presidency has said that though  President Goodluck Jonathan  is committed to timely resolution of the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, he will not accept unreasonable terms.
The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, said this in an interview with one of our correspondents while explaining the President’s stand on the formation of a faction of the PDP by seven governors and some chieftains of the party at the party’s mini convention in Abuja last Saturday.

The peace move by elders of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by former President Olusegun Obasanjo aimed at restoring peace in the troubled party may have failed.

Tukur faction asks court to stop Baraje group



The Alhaji Bamanga Tukur faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Friday, asked an Abuja Federal High Court to restrain the Abubakar Baraje faction from parading itself as the national executive of the party.
The Tukur faction filed the application through its lawyer, Tochukwu Onwugbufor, SAN.
The plaintiffs included Tukur and the PDP national officers elected at the party’s August 31, 2013, national convention at the Eagle Square, in Abuja.

26-year-old Abuja Actress Jailed for Stealing IPad, IPhone and jewellery




A 26-year-old actress Nancy Ndukwe of Jikwoyi, Abuja, was sentenced by Abuja Senior Magistrates’ Court on September 6, 2013, Friday. She was convicted for two months of imprisonment for stealing an IPad, IPhone and jewellery.

Cpl. Paul Anigbo, on the side of the prosecution, told the court that the matter was reported at the Lugbe Police Station by one Faith Njoku of Kapuwa Village, Lugbe, Abuja on September 2.

The prosecutor told the court that Nancy Ndukwe visited her friend Njoku on the above-mentioned date and stole her IPad, IPhone and jewellery, all valued at N190,000.

Lagos Commissioner for Public Transportation Mr. Kayode Opeifa, got more than he bargained for as he strayed into Gani Fawehinmi 'Night of Tributes' occasion organized to commemorate the late radical lawyer and advocate for the masses in Lagos.

The 'Night of Tributes And Socials', attended by left-wing activists including Femi Aborishade, Lanre Legacy, Okei-Odumakin as well as members of Civil Society Organizations and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) was the second event for the day after a morning lecture in which Prof. Omotoye Olorode lashed out on Minister of Economy Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala, the Goodluck Jonathan-led government and the entire PDP.

George Zimmerman's wife heads to court for divorce



Less than months after he was acquitted of murdering Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman's wife has filed for divorce. 26 year old Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce just yesterday, a week after she pleaded guilty to a perjury charge for lying during a bail hearing following her husband's arrest in Feb 2012. She lied about the couple's assets when her husband was trying to be released on a lower bond. Shelley was sentenced to a year's probation and 100 hours of community service.

Russia to help Syria in case of external military strike - Putin





"Will we be helping Syria? We will," Vladimir Putin said at a press conference following a G20 summit in St. Petersburg on Friday. The US and other countries will put themselves outside of law if they begin a military operation in Syria, Putin added.

Yoruba actress, Ronke Ojo a.k.a Ronke Oshodi Oke loses dad - R.I.P



Yoruba actress Ronke Ojo popularly called Oshodi Oke is bereaved. The talented actress lost her aged father, Mr Ojo few weeks ago in Nigeria.

According to sources, her dad’s death facilitated her quick return from the United State of America to Nigeria last month. Few months back, the actress delivered her second baby for her hubby Gbolahan Anthony.  The burial arrangement of her late father is being put in place as at the time of gathering this report.

President Jonathan Is Too Weak, A Total Disappointment – Asari-Dokubo




President of the defunct Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahedeen Asari- Dokubo, once again took a swipe at President Goodluck Jonathan, stating that the Nigerian leader is a disappointment to the Ijaw ethnic nationality.

Asari-Dokubo said Jonathan is weak and unassertive as a leader.

The ex-militant commander, who was reacting to the latest crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which has led to the factionalisation of the ruling party, lamented that Jonathan could not take bold and courageous steps to tame the dissidents.

Corporal shoots ASP dead during argument at station




When on April 6, 2013, Jane and Olusoji Elegbede got married in Lagos State, their joy knew no bounds. Although Olusoji was a policeman serving in Yobe State, which is fraught with security challenges, Jane did not mind living there with him.
Their plan was to settle down, have children and grow old together.

Unfortunately, this was not to be as Olusoji, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, was gunned down by a police corporal in Gashua Bade Local Government, Yobe State, while on duty less than five months after their wedding.

PDP crisis: Tragedy as OBJ's peace move fails



Obasanjo and other senior members of the party met with its two factions at Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Friday to discuss how to settle the differences among the warring factions. But both parties insisted that their conditions for peace must be satisfied before the party could move forward.

200 People Hurt As Around 130 Cars Accident In to Each Other (Photos)





Dozens of everyone was injured as significantly more than 130 vehicles were involved with some crashes on the A249 Sheppey crossing in Kent today. The crash which went on for 10 minutes as cars continuously collided together was the result of a thick fog.
